Depends on the batch of 2500K. Early batch's at release weren't that great. 4.6-4.8 the norm on air. Newest batch's are a lot better. 5.0Ghz+ on air

Mine with a Hyper 212+ run 24/7. With a D14 i believe 5.2+ should be quite easy

I think that any info other than what I or AMD have personally offered which is not much if any can be discarded until further notice.

There are still peices to the puzzle missing that I can assure you 99.9% don't have yet regarding CPU rev and bios support and agesa.

To sum up BD facts

BD is physically a 4 core 8 thread part.

It has no coldbug

Samples can bench at 5+ on stock cooler, 6+ on phase change and 8.4 on lhe.

And most important of all SATA works

Like i said before the joke is on that guy we won't name, he was sent intentionally quite possilby the worst chip ever produced. 6.4 on ln2,
or he needs to learn how to OC, 6.4 is my validation speed on phase change......he who laughs last laughs best.............

Video shows 6 gig at 30 suicide, -45 range I'd guess you could bench that? Dice should be able to hold -50 to -55

I watched some "real" benches.. The AMD holds it's own very well against a 980X and when you kick in the price difference between it and a 980X it's a no brainer.
I'll say it this way, IF I was building a gaming machine I would use the FX8150 and not think twice about it, and buy the family's food for the month with the savings!

But the 2500k beats the 980x in most (gaming) benches, and can be gotten relatively cheaply. Not sure how I feel about it holding its own (not beating) the 980x in game benches; plus, games aren't my only concern.

Regardless, that's still exciting to hear, and assures me that I won't have many regrets getting a BD cpu.

FlanK3r, I think it makes sense.
Still, power consumption will be make or brake deal for BD. It should be better than Phenom X6 in a lot of cases, but we won't get ST killer we all hoped for.
Anyway my AM3+ socket will part away with Phenom X6 in few days, so I hope to fill it with decent performance chip soon.

Honestly i only have doubts about integer ST performance. I mean, look at BD's FPU. It's way more powerful than k10, i think it will be on par with SB (if not even faster) in ST FP tasks.

its very good, maybe up to 1.55V as with older Denebs . We will see, how much next step in voltage help in overclock (for 10-20 MHz up is not sense incrase voltage from 1.5 to 1.55 of course...). Im looking not only for chips (maybe Im crazy), but also at new wallpapers with Scorpion logos

Apparently Intel will release a 2700K at the same time BD is released, thus the downward pricing. Take it for what it is... Also, if supply is low don't expect to see those prices.
