Ram issue

Hi, thought I would ask a noob question, before I take the plunge!!

My mobo will accept 1600 ram, no problem, but if I put 1800 ram in, will it just see it as 1600, and run anyway??

Not looking for it to run at speeds past 1600, was just wondering if it will still work ok??

Any info would be appreciated!!

Yeah it'll be fine.
By default all ram (1333+) will run 1333mhz stock.
You'll have to change the ram div to get to 1600mhz, you won't have to oc the fsb at all to get the 1600mhz mem.

so, just to clarify, 1800 will run fine as 1600??

No 1333 involved here?!

...just have to set the 1800 sticks to 1600 in bios??

Yep it'll be fine, 1800mhz mem at 1600mhz .

You boot with the new mem, it'll say 1333mhz.
You just change to 1600mhz and it's done .
