Bulldozer sample out now, no benchs.

Advanced Micro Devices this week again reiterated its roadmap for chips to be made using 32nm silicon-on-insulator (SOI) gate-first high-K metal gate (HKMG) process technology. The interim chief exec promised to launch code-named Llano accelerated processing units in Q2 2011, but to delay the highly-expected Bulldozer chips to "summer".

AMD begun (limited) sampling process in Q4 2010,so this is no news.

Although no official announcement regarding the release schedule of the first Llano processors have been made, SemiAccurate reports that “things are looking up for a Q2 Llano introduction.”
    That's a rumour...
And tbh, nothing new here? We knew this for a while...

Q2 usually means Computex launch, so dont expect it to be out in April or May
might actually be July or August until widespread availability kicks in...

    ...

All AMD ever said regarding Bulldozer was "Q2 launch", now they mention "early summer" and we hear DELAY! from Xbitlabs.

Don't journalist care any more about facts, only hits fuelled by FUD?

    Well, it depends...

I actually know a guy that works for a major computer news website (more than 1 million daily users) and he is "asked" to write 15 300-word news a day or he's out of a job.

As for Bulldozer, too bad we have to wait until summer as i disparately need an upgrade and i am sure its introduction would drive CPU prices down. Intel or AMD I don't care, since i always go for bang/buck.

Not necessarily. Phenom II X6 launched on 26 Apr 2010 for example.

Time is money. They won't wait for the Computex if they will be able to launch it weeks earlier.

From that artical all i can see is that Llano is progressing ahead of schedule, and there is no change to bulldozer (samples are already out to partners).

Not sure why this delay thing came up lol.

Im sure JF will keep us upto date on any change to the plans, if there are any.

No change to schedules. They should not have used the word delayed because everything is still on track.
While I work for AMD, my posts are my own opinions.
