Oh, dinger!! I stopped just short of 150k Maybe I should of just let it run for a few more hours.... Oh, well. my GTX460 arrives tomorrow :wheeee.......

I really like PrimeGrid, because WU are only 30min long for a HD5770 (35min, in my experience) and a supposed 13min for a GTX460 I can still mix in gaming on my schedule, instead of inbetween work units

EDIT: it's still inbetween work units, but at least I don't have to wait some 6 odd hours for a WU to complete

Don't worry man, with the GTX 460, you can do your total points right now probably in one day.
But when you are running CUDA, there will be huge graphic lags even when running 2D. You might want to snooze crunching when you are using the computer.

Thank you for the confidence boost. I'll probably just use my laptop for work, and my dekstop for crunching/gaming

Though I'm still putting together my desktop Watercooling + mITX isn't easy, especially if one decides to WC the GPU, too

heh I got my HD5770 back from work and in a new shell

Crunchin interm while I install Ubuntu10 for the first time.

EDIT: nooo!! I must be the only cruncher here without a 8GB flash drive! Ubuntu will work on a 4GB flash drive... but BOINC, nVidia drivers, etc will need more

I guess it is to the back of the line for me...

I cannot get nVidia drivers to install without killing the boot image somehow

Now I hate chosing the cheapest shipping route possible... 5 extra usd is all that stood inbetween 4 days of waiting

Oh, well. Just gonna drum my desk and start sleeving cables until then, lol

Hey guys, I've got a huge load of errors when I am loading PrimeGrid onto my friends laptop.

He has a mobility 5870 (which has a Juniper core aka 5770) on his laptop, and I got all those APP drivers going. All the Wus errored out in 3 seconds...

There was a thread on Primegrid (well, rather single post that constituted the thread) with the same error... My guess is the HD5870m has a different set of drivers that don't work well with OpenCL, lol. Otherwise, I'd guess the laptop needs a reboot, first :p (reguarding the issue I had with *just* installing the drivers).

Though I installed the 10.12 APP drivers, and not the CCC2 preview ones (since the CCC2 preview ones didn't seem to include the Stream SDK).

Other suggestion would be to download the streamSDK and install that seperately. IIRC, you need an AMD dev (just register) account to do so.

Never mind, I got the wrong drivers installed. Got the regular 5870 drivers instead of the mobility.

The notebook will net me at least 60k PPD. Pretty nice.
