Surprised that nobody has posted about it???? But, with the epic lack of PC multiplayer info on the THQ/Kaos forums, it's not surprising... DE is doing the multi supposedly.....

Iam little excited for this game, sounds good on paper, but we will wait and see.

"Homefront's PC version has been outsourced to Digital Extremes, a Canadian developer responsible for numerous Unreal Tournament games and Bioshock ports. Frank Delise, the executive producer of the PC version has stated that the PC version of the game will feature exclusive content and dedicated servers. Digital Extremes are not exactly "responsible for numerous Unreal Tournament games". They mostly made content and took part in multiplayer design, not in coding or technical issues.

OH, beleive me, I dont have much "hope" for this game, especially since they are keeping the PC related stuff "undisclosed"... I've been asking simple questions for MONTHS on their forums, about general PC related support, and have gotten the "we cant talk about that" speech.... Sheesh, you'd think that DICE was involved with making the damn game...

Well... finished the single player without even a bathroom break it was so short.
Worst $50 I ever spent. If this is supposed to be a "PC Game" like the Devs said then why does it say "Push btn 3" instead of "E" to enter vehicles, climb ladders etc? There is no button 3 on my keyboard! There is a 3 key but no button 3!
Glad I have some old Real PC games that are still fun!
Maybe the multiplayer will add some life...

You guys overlook the graphics settings?
Looks ok and better then most games,even crysis2 does not look as good to me.
pc is for mp and that looks to have plenty of playablity but remember it is a port job(does not feel too clunky thuo).
$50 for this and metro 2033 on steam is not a bad deal imho,i'v paid more for less.

Its not that great in the looks department but its fun to play mp.

they got a white castle too but its sorta deadly to stop for any time to take a decent ss.




Games are not all looks to me,but what would i know i liked fl.fow

SOmethigns wrong with their Multiplayer's framerates though. I get 120 FPS with everything maxxed in SP, but in MP I get 30-40 FPS and it's chugging. This is with a 980x at 4.5 and 3way SLI 480's o.O

Hmmmm do you try to turn off the 60 cap in settings?
framerate smooth uncheck it is on by defualt.
i just tried and lowest is 55-60 now with just 1 480 1600x1200 all max except motion blur

Yeah it's odd, CPU usage is 19% in MP and GPU's are all at 25-40% usage, and the FPS stinks, in SP everythings peachy, 95% GPU usage and 120 FPS.

What's up with those textures? They look about as plain as my wall...
I mean, they look "realistic" sorta with the colors and lighting, but the textures themselves just look...simple...

The multi player maps look better than the single player and the MP is good fun! Still wish they were a bit larger. Not much room for vehicle traffic.
Multi player saves the day on this game. I'll never play the single again.

The game looks far better than those screenshots and runs great in Single player at 125+ fps, MP performance however is broken for some reason.. seems CPU usage is unusually low and even with the latest beta drivers SLI GPU usage is only around 50%, however both single player and hosted games (LAN etc) run excellent at double the fps.. Graphics are decent for a MP game when maxed out and plays well, shame about the MP performance..

ok ok so i dont like the looks of an over bloomed game

As for it not looking too great in my screenshots,i set max besides motion blur.Its not my fault unreal engine2 does not take well to settings.
i'll mess with it when i have time or care.

No server issues so far. Played MP 6 hours last night and only lost connection 1 time. Plenty of servers. Actually had problems finding a server with people on it (low ping) but it was kinda late local time. Spawn times are way too fast. Appears there is no bullet physics, no bullet drop or spread. Hit box size is not too large. Have not driven a tank in MP yet but the single player tank shells look like the same graphic as the RPG which is as slow as a bow and arrow???
Rammed a sniper with the little observer drone and think I got a kill from it! I was just hovering next to him to see if he noticed, then backed off and rammed him to get his attention.
Most games seamed too short to me. Prefer the extended battles on large maps of BF2. Have not played much MP the past year so I was fun getting back online. The extra gadgets, the drones, UAVs, robot guns etc are a blast.

No kidding. Check this out. I'm on a 980x with 3x SLIU gtx 480's

Then we load up MP and get 30-40 FPS and this is my GPU usage..

Cannot connect to servers... Keeps saying "lost connection to host" or it just doesn't do anything when I press join.

Firewall off and everything. Can get in to servers about 1/4th the time.

Any ideas?

edit: also when I cant get in, my back button to the before menu doesnt work. I have to hit main menu/multiplayer. Also when I got into my armory after my server listings come up behind it.. Weird

I bought it yesterday just for my son but having problems. not sure if anyone has seen this....I can't ever start the game. I hit play on steam and something about PhysX is not installed correctly.

I have an ATI card do I need PhysX installed? I have tried everything but can't find a real solution.
