    P8P67 recall pain

Well I found out what intel means when they say the sata controllers can degrade over time.

It means A SHORT TIME, mine are giving me problems now. Example Watching a movie from the effected(sp?) port, i get stuttering and eventuall freezing of the movie.
If I reconect the drive to one of the other controllers, its fine.

Running the OS off of the same controller. Crash-ola Note: this is even worse because my Corsair SSD likes to play hide and seek in the Bios.

So now to send it back.
I chose the "hold the $$ on my credit card until you get it back" method.
They want me to print out a form, with my CC info on it, THEN either fax it to them OR scan the form and email it back to them. I'm guessing they don't just let you fill out the data for your card online because they require me to sign the form. This is through Asus by the way. RPITA
I'm going to try and call them tomorrow, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Mine started giving me problems last week as well, and it is getting worse and worse very quickly. I cant even use half the ports now I cant send my old MB in for replacement either because ASUS said they required a receipt, and I had thrown my receipt away when I bought the board once I had passed the 15 day return period from where I bought it. Now Im stuck buying a new MB, cause this other board is dying after only a few months

When my B2 started doing random sh*t with the SATA's I've bumped the PCH voltage and that got them fixed. Try it

Well, at least they ansewer the phones fast. I got right through to a human. BUT it looks like the only way to do the expidited(sp?) return is to either fax or e-mail a creadit card number. Wow, in this day and age that just seems dumb.

You are complaining because you have to email or fax them 1 sheet of paper? Took me like 5 minutes to go through the process and I got my board in about 36 hours (from California to Minnesota) painlessly. Was very impressed, the only time I've been impressed with Asux support

Asus could have (or should have) do it the easy route, fill in CC# online, get's authorized right away and ship mobo the following day. I don't know why they don't do that. It seems they chose the manual way, which requires more work and 10x slower. Regardless, each one of us should be able to get them the proper info quickly and timely to get what we need done. Complaining at this point is useless and it's not going to change anything other than delaying the service we need.

Be thankful manufacturers do advanced RMAs. Here its a absolute nightmare and you REALLY have to fight for a advanced RMA On the plus side my Asrock B2 board is perfect still but that may be because I have no use for the SATA2 ports and I improved the cooling on the PCH.

I should find some wood to touch now.
