SAPPHIRE Brings Back HD5800 series with Xtreme Editions

Hailed as the most exciting development in graphics for several generations, the original SAPPHIRE HD 5800 series not only included the fastest single GPU available, but was also the first family of video cards in the world to support the advanced graphical features of Microsoft DirectX 11 and multi-monitor displays in Eyefinity mode. Now it’s back – with the exciting new SAPPHIRE HD 5800 series Xtreme Editions!

Two models will be available from April 2011 – the SAPPHIRE HD 5850 Xtreme and the SAPPHIRE HD 5830 Xtreme. Both will represent spectacular value for money – and support all the latest games and applications.....

What's the diff between these and the older models? Sorry, read the article yesterday but couldn't find the answer.

that is actually pretty snazzy. the cooler looks good, and the card size has been shrunk. and the price, $150 for a 5850, is competitive

pretty sure you won't be able to adjust volts through software with these models though.

    Ryzen 9 3900X w/ NH-U14s on MSI X570 Unify
    32 GB Patriot Viper Steel 3733 CL14 (1.51v)
    RX 5700 XT w/ 2x 120mm fan mod (2 GHz)
Tons of NVMe & SATA SSDs
    LG 27GL850 + Asus MG279Q

In the UK its £108 for the 5850, and £85 for the 5830. Even if volts cant be adjusted, they are unbeatable at their prices:

They definitely made me regret going for GTX 460s / 560s lol. I wish I had kept my 5770s, and now I would have bought 3 of these 5850s and tri fired them.

Would be impossible to do tri-fire since there is only one CF connector... Really nice value though.

i had 4870 CF (more power hungry than 5850); Xeown W3520@ 4.0ghz; my WC system (pump + 6 fans) and 6 hdds on the old Corsair HX620 W so you have plenty of headroom

On Topic: good to see 5850 still around; at this price it offers the best price/performance and power/performance between 100-200$

    Nice job sapphire !
Only thing is strange it draws 44W more then original 5850 but it is lower in temperature ..

Will it play BF3, what do you think guys, or just get one now and one more when bf3 comes ?

Or just wait for BF3 before getting something? Unless there is a super awesome game you want to play now.

Lol, nobody cares about the 5830
I'm actually surprised sapphire brought it back... 5830s were such a let down...

Its £85, it makes a great purchase for a superbudget for anyone unwilling to pay a little more for the 5850.

I managed to spec a £350 gaming rig together with the 5830:

It is perfect for a super budget gaming PC . I'm sure that the reason why they bought it back is because they have loads of 5830 GPUs still lying around.
