    New switches

I just bought a Logisys system extender. I'm trying to find some new toggle switches that light up blue. All I can find is 12v switches that I can not use. Does anyone know where I can find 250v 25amp spst toggle switches that light up blue.

The problem is lines-voltage switches use little neon bulbs for long life, and the fact they can be driven right from the mains.

Doing blue would require an LED, a resistor, and a bridge-rectifier unless you wanted to deal with a 30Hz flicker.

    These are double pole rockers.
I'm not sure if they are blue or uv, half the time when they say blue on something these days it means uv.
So you may want to make sure, also ensure that these will fit, being that these are double pole and all they are probably a bit fatter then the usual.

I didn't look to hard, if you look around you may find exactly what you are looking for.

I admit I never thaught of using aluminated rockers...
Would be kinda nice to see on a psu but then again these rocker lights don't generally last forever.
At least the ones in cheap surge protectors don't last more then a year or so, maybe 4 at best before they flicker like mad or burn out.
One other thing to consider, if you're a emi/rfi noise freak and want the cleanest possible line.
This might not be the best thing for that, I can't say how much of a draw the lights will have or how much of an impact on noise levels.

Edit, I'de be looking for 250v just incase, 125v seems to close.

Simple green is the shiz for cleaning pcb's in the tub...
    Love that stuff.
I got some mean green but after using it to clean the house with on some stuffs before this last christmas, it seems to be a bit to aggressive, I don't think mean green is 100% safe to be using on pcb's.
Simple green on the other hand is awesome...

Hmm, digi-key might be another possible alternative to IFMU's suggestion if you can't find them .
I probably should of mentioned that.
I just checked xoxide.com, but they only have 12v switches.

What's more funny is that they spelled it right on the AC jack side.

Let us know if you find anything just right and be sure to post up pics of the mod. I might just have to copy you on this depending on how it comes out.

I found some switches that match the ones that came with it. I dont think they will work due to not being LED lights. I will post pics as soon as I get them.

Here are the pics of the aftermath of my mod. I'm going to look for some LED switches to replace these. These are blue but do not light up that well and they turn to a green color when lights are on. Thxs guys for the info that helped me.

I suppose you could replace the bulbs using the ones from your old switches.
That's if you can get those switches apart without breaking them.
You'll also have to solder them of course.

From what I can tell, those aren't blue at all, just the casing is blue, so if you can somehow replace those bulbs, you'll be in business.

I'm trying to find some more switches to replace these. I'm also fixin to install a Matrix Orbital GX Typhoon Graphics Display in the 5.25 slot. Does anyone else have anymore ideas on modding this? Also I have tried to pull the switches apart and broke it. So the idea about changing the light bulbs wont work. I guess I'm a bull in a china shop when it comes to taking apart little things.
