Think im going to try to get credit towards a UD5. Need 2 x PCIE 8x, 1 x PCIE 4x and a PCI. That limits me to the P8P67 series, Gene-Z, Asrock or the UD5. Out of that choice I reckon the UD5 is most likely to work best for me.

Replaced my Hypers with PSC kits for this board and the POS wont run 4 sticks at decent speeds.

Maxed using 4x2gb G.Skill F3-12800-4GBXH @ 106.5 bclk 18.66x multi 8-9-8-28-2T 1.5125v all stock prime stable. About 1980mhz. Bios 1606 gives best bandwidth and bclk using 18.66x multi. Its not great that I cant tighten timings and the actual mem clock is lower than I'd hoped for by quite a lot given I cant use 21.33x, but the board may have earned a reprieve. Have yet to test with HyperPi or any 3d tho. Also havent pushed SA, IO, PCH or PLL to try for more bclk, may be more in it. Would love to get 2000mhz mem stable.

Planning to buy the P8P67 EVO B3 motherboard together with a 2500K. For a nice price of $200 but is it worth it?

Go for Asus Gene-Z if you want some good OC.

I'm very happy with my Deluxe. I'm sure the M4X or gene-Z isn't a better overclocker than my beloved Deluxe.
I would say, grab a p67 Deluxe. The Z68's if you're going to use a 2600 and his integrated grafic chip.

Hey, I'm about to swap my mobo for the B3 and was going to upgrade to the Deluxe for the hell of it...should I also consider the Gene-Z?

It's just a gaming/OC rig, not going to use any of the z68 features, which would be the better OC'er?

No need to go for the gene-Z. I would go for the P67 Deluxe.

Asus lists its PCI-Express 3.0-ready and Ivy Bridge-supporting motherboards

Asus say's that the P8P67 DELUXE is compatibility with ivy bridge!
But it isn't on the list, that supports pci-e 3.0..

    I'm confused...
The asus p8p67 deluxe, with bios update, can support ivy bridge and pci-e 3.0 OR only supports ivy bridge and no pci-e 3.0??

    Can anybody explain me please??
Sorry for my english......i did my best

It's quite logical, if it's on the Ivy list but not on the PCI-E 3.0 list, then they'll run Ivy with PCI-E 2.0 link speeds.

I know this is the overclocking thread but I am not having much luck anywhere else. What is the deal with the SLI option not showing up in the Nvidia control panel? I have two Asus GTX 460 cards with the bridge connected running the latest 2001 bios posted on the Asus forums. Both cards show up as being able to be used as PhysX, some people have suggest reinstalling Windows and I have tried this as well. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi, Daniel.

I updated to it and now the pc has had problems to start the post on cold boot. On cold boot, it does not beep. When unplugged, it cold boot again, it starts and gives error overclocking. Then pressing F1 and saving it finally gives normal boot. This error occurs over and even without the default settings.

As you also did this update, and had no problems, I wondered if you (or someone) could give me some help.

    Any ideas?

    Regards,

    Marins

Just had my Asus P8P67 Pro Rev3.1 crap out on me basically idling on the desktop this past Sunday. Rather pissed about it only having the board a little over a month then this happens.

No its not a PSU, Memory or GPU issue either everything disconnected and if it stays on for a millisecond I'd be lucky.

Just hoping now from what it seems like some VRM issue on the board that it didn't take my CPU with it. Once again Asus product I had failed, though it wasn't as spectacular as my last one with flames shooting out the back of my case that I couldn't get an RMA on (couldn't find receipt).

    @PanicProne:

I guess you're username is fitting.

Seriously now, don't you think it's possible something in your setup is triggering the problem? Because this is definitely not a widespread issue, so the possibility of you getting 2 similarly fault boards is very slim. I'm not saying it is your fault at all, just that some variable particular to your use maybe related to the problem. Can you tell us more about your system? Have you tried swapping your PSU? You got me really curious, and quite a bit scared since if my 2500K/board fries I'd be months without a replacement

Were you guys watercooling ? Many use WC and the VRMs and co really need some airflow to cool them down... they run hot, when pushed with +1.4 Vcore... and some really love to push things with hours/days of stresstesting
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

All the info you need is in the thread I posted up there I had 2 very different PSUs both times my hardware died. The problem is not on my end, I've tested my wall sockets, my mobo contacts on the case, tested my case for static accumulation, etc- All clean.

Around the web, there are many more cases like this.

    Hi,
I hope someone can help me out here.
My 2600K does a 56x. But I wanted to go further.
When I put multi 56, I can't overclock with the base clock. With 56 multi, all I can do with the base clock is 100.1!
Is there something I can tweak to get some more MHz?
    I have 2600K, Asus P8P67 deluxe and GSkill RipjawX Cas 6 1600MHz.
I'm sorry for my bad english and thank everyone for your answers in advance!

OK, I see. The problem is the cpu then, not the settings.

Already had it up to 1.65v.
I ended up having to update bios, disable the asmedia usb 3.0 in bios, and remove the drivers and it seems to run ok now

I'm a bit confused about the pcie 3.0 support too. Asus lists here the vanilla P8P67 twice (both rev 3.1 and rev 3.0) along with the LE, M and LX but not the Pro, Evo and Deluxe! Does this mean those won't support pcie 3.0 while the plain p8p67 will?!?
Why would they do that, doesn't make much sense to me! Am I missing something here?

Asus quality?? When I first got this board, and looked at the board, I noticed that the one of the cpu hold down screws was in crooked/crossthreaded, I didnt want to rma it, so I backed out the screw and put it in straight. I sure wish I had sent it back now, I am about to install win7 for the third time. Nothing but problems, had it up to 4.5 Ghz, but buggy as hell.
The only reason I hadnt upgraded to the new generation is because DFI isnt making Lanparty boards any more.
