How does x4 bandwidth pci-e slots effect GPUgrid performance?

Anyone know? I may be getting a UD3 p67 board that has a second x4 slot. would it be worth putting something there to run?

IMHO Waste is a computer going to a landfill having done actual computations less than 90% of it's life. 90% of the computers powered on right now are idle or powered off; what a waste! [/B]

Is it a coincidence that your wifes pc is called Uranus?

WARNING: UD3 P67 DOES NOT SUPPORT SLI!!! Only does crossfire... Have to get UD4.

    For reference:

    P8P67 LE - x16/x4
    P8P67 - x16/x4 xfire
    P8P67 Pro - x8/x8 sli/xfire
    P8P67 Evo
    P8P67 Deluxe - x8/x8 sli/xfire
    P8P67 WS Revolution - 16x/8x/8x trisli/trifire (NF200)
    Sabertooth TUF - x8/x8 sli/xfire
    Maximus

    Gigabyte:
    P67A-UD3 - x16/x4 xfire
    P67A-UD3R - x16/x4 xfire
    P67A-UD4 - x8/x8 sli/xfire
    P67A-UD5 - x8/x8 sli/xfire
    P67A-UD7 - x16/x16/x8 trisli/trifire (NF200)

    MSI:

Edit: but to answer your question no 4x will not impact GPUGrid...

do you have to be actually running SLI for GPU grid to pick up on the second GPU and make use of it? I have never done it in practice but I don't see why it would need SLI...

    Hurry someone try it

You don't need SLI for GPUGRID for sure and my x58 ud3 doesnt support SLI but it works without problem

    Good to know.

I knew we didn't run it in SLI but I didn't know if the board would recognize it without.

I don't even think gpu will see the second card if run in sli; must be disabled for the grid.
There is no difference running 4x slot; however there will be a slight loss on second card for running multiple gpus on one system
