I tried dinos22' tip, removed most hardware monitoring software, shut down the system, cleared cmos and reboot.
    System restarts continuously, not posting.

Only thing left to do then is to plug out the ATX and 8-pin molex from the board for at least 1.5 hours and hope the system will reboot after that.

This happens with everything at stock too... so lowering multi is worthless
    set bios defaults.
download lastest bios for ud4: http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/12...p67aud4.7f.zip
flash bios using @bios in windows (dont forgat uncheck checboxes, or program crash)
boot windows with new bios then shut down comp.
    connect a ps/2 keyboard.
push power button then push alt button on keyboard dont drop button and spam to F12 button.
bios will ask you: flash backup bios with your main bios. flash it
and your bios will never come back to f3.

Tried with F7f bios but no change.
Thanks for the hint on updating the backup bios
Yea this same CPU does 5.3 in the Asus, also the CPU I have now in the Asus has been tried in the UD4 and I had the same issue on the UD4

I have ordered another UD4 which will be here tomorrow so I will try that next. If I get the same issue then I will be stuck, but i suspect the second board will just work as it should.

    I don't think the UD4 is a bad board.
It has its flaws, all the SB boards are still pretty new, but I think that future bios updates will resolve most problems.

Can't say anything about the MSI board though.

I received word back from Taiwan last night in regards to Easytune and Bclk, and they have figured out what is causing the issue!

You must install Intel Management Software from the motherboard install CD.

So for anyone having issues with Easytune and changing Bclk as seen below, please install the following software from your install CD.

    Issue:

    Resolution:

    Problem solved!

Big thanks to the Gigabyte team, I spent many hours trying to find the cause of this and I'm sure others have as well!

    Gigabyte rocks as always!

New UD4 arrived today and works perfectly.
    The old one was faulty.

My 2600K goes straight in at 5GHz prime95 1 Hour Blend stable and 5.3GHz for benchmarks.
This maybe the limit of the CPU as that all I got from it on my Asus board, but that was only a quick test.

Will try my 5.4Ghz in the Asus 2600K chip in the UD4 later.

I think my UD4 may have an issue also.

I have tested it for a while now and basically it goes like this setting vcore over 1.325 from a cold boot = no post.........however setting vcore 1.325 then post set to 1.33 reboot, set i.34 reboot, set 1.35, reboot, set i.36, reboot gets me all the way to 1.365............then after that i can't post.

saving the profile at 1.36 and loading = no post.

Using vcore in ET6 = crash.

I have explored all bios options and tbh it seems to be getting worse, oddly enough clocks are stable at what voltage it will allow so it seems to be something odd going on here and not a faulty PWM.

basically after testing all settings vcore is my trigger for a no post over 1.325.

I can set multis up above 4.5 no issues as long as vcore does not exceed 1.325.

Previously before it seemed to get worse i had this issues around 1.375 with another chip...........Oddly enough i can cram 1.6 to that same chip albeit no gains and post in the UD7.

One last note, it seems to me most of my issues started when i started using vcore settings in windows and actually it happened when lowering not raising vcore.

    To go into further details.

This was the board on day 1.......as we can see it was doing over 1.35 vcore fine however i could not really run the volts up where i could on UD7 even from the begiining.

Then this is the same board now at the max bootable vcore. Stability is not an issue but overclocking is nerfed in a big way with a voltage limit.

I also just took the liberty to swap chips and the retail doing 1.4vcore prior is also limited to 1.325 boot now.

Then i just took the same ES chip out and tossed more than 1.5vcore at it in the UD7 and booted at a known good profile.

I'd say at this point it's safe to say I have an issue. Not sure how to proceed with a review like this now

    Thanks m8, much appreciated.
Brought mine in today, shop owner called me this afternoon he already got a new one.
I'm picking it up tomorrow, let's hope this one works correctly.

Which bios came with yours now?
Did you flash yours directly to the most recent one?

    chew* :

did you try using the Normal + DVID setting, instead of setting VCore manually?
