Erm.. thats a pretty daft thing to say. UEFI problems are not in anybodys head. Asus, and MSI are having issues, Gigabyte can't even make a UEFI. As for the Extreme4 at least, some of the UEFI problems that have been reported by a multitude of people are double boots before actually powering up, changing too many settings at once in AI Tweaker will cause the board to fail to POST (and thats even with leaving the multiplier at default), etc. Oh, and yes I've checked all components individually, their all fine, its a flaky UEFI.

Chrisch nice chip you have there! Can you do 7/7/7/20 ? TRCD hates sandybridge ><

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

The UEFI has problems. When all hardware has been diagnosed healthy and software checked for errors, the last remaining culprit is the UEFI. You forget the Exreme4 and Extreme6 may bare many similar features, but each are very different animals and prone to different issues.

i don´t think that the memory can handle 7-7-7-20

    its the 4GB Kit G.SKill RipJawsX 2133 7-10-7-27-2T

Edit: maximum for this memory (limited by BCLK)

Btw what do you guys mean with "double boot"? Does it mean "on - off - on"?

If yes it helps on ASUS Boards if you enable in Bios "Wake on PCIE"

    @ bro20000

    really nice CPU

Bro2000. We have almost have the same chip and motherboard lol. I'm rock-stable at 49X100 with 1.35. 50X100 at 1.36 was giving me prime errors (not BSOD) after 2 or 3 hours.

Now trying to OC my RAM. Started with 16GB at DDR-1600 7-8-7-24 1.6v stock, now at DDR-2133 9-10-9-28 1.65v with 16GB. Will try to use tihghter timings and lower Vram.

1135MHz (DDR3-2270) was possible with 1.675v but i didn´t test less voltage. Maybe they can do this also with 1.65v or lower

    @ Johnny87au

    yeah it the L042B076

    Btw 5.6GHz is also possible

    Why do you say that?

I'm running a G.Skill kit of 7-7-7-24 1t 2 1.6v, prime is stable but got crashes in COD BO. backing off to 2T seems to remedy this, but maybe you are right and it hates TRCD @ 7.

Let me know what makes you think there is issues with Sandy Bridge and tight TRCD though

Thanks, just trying to compare my OCZ's they need 1.7~1.72 to do that timing @ 2290.. & thats on a GB which overvolts .02v

Finding a strong one is not easy as you can have both strong and weak with in each given batch. Still a few batchs seem to have more strong samples then many others but it is not a sure thing. I've tested six 2600k and two 2500k. I prefer 2600k because I like to have HT and my best 2600K sample will boot/bench x54 but not x55. Samples that boot/bench x55 not to mention those that do x56 seem to be quite rare. I think maybe "high average" samples will boot/bench x52 but not x53 but it is still early with SB and it is hard to say where the "bell curve" is going to fall with regards to just just how high these chips will o.c.

johnny - one of our guys picked up a L040B307 same as 1day's beauty but so far it doesnt seem as good.

I got my L041B204 to 5339 but it took 1.55v to do it and not really stable either .... it needs 1.31v to be stable at 4500 too , so not great at all.

Much difference in same batches. I have had 3x L042B076 here now, best does 5ghz vantage cpu at 1.32v, worst needed 1.47v for same test.

Thanks I appreciate your effort that’s exactly what I'm looking for.... it looks to me that the GSkills are a little better than my OCZ's if they can do 2300+ @ 1.7v & CL6 like bro20000.

I just got a new 2600k today since the L042B208 was a flop and 1 core was 12C higher than the rest after multiple remounts. My new chip is a L050A933, hopefully it will be a good chip!
