According to Asus only 2 percent hits >5Ghz. Then what the hell is going on here? Lots of high clocks, and staying below max VID (1.52) is no problem at all.

Anyone using "Additonal Turbo voltage" while overclocking ? was wondering as to any benefits ?
If your not using fixed Vcore then you can use it to better scale the higher multi's with VID, up to 1.5V.

2x00K overclocking already forgotten?

Anything on 2600K Batch# 3103B317? Has anyone even seen one of these or in action?
I thought it strange since most I see here start with the letter L?

Thanks for the reply, is one found to be any better than the other Costa Rica vs Malaysia, in the past or now?
I know we can't know for sure till its tested, but just trying to get a idea of what I can expect somewhat.
Edit: is this the first seen like this, sorry didn't read threw the whole thread.
lol I need to update my sig, that's some seriously old stuff there.
BTW is does say Costa Rica right on the chip, slaps head.

Hard to say...what's the vcore reading at load? Your cpu is idle in that screenshot.
I know I can prime at a vcore reading of just less than 1.25v load at 4.5 ghz.
If you're completely locking up at 4.2 ghz and 1.20v before you can even run any programs, then that definitely isn't a good sign, since you usually need at least 0.05v higher if you freeze right after windows loads...
Can you prime at 4.1 ghz with a LOAD vcore of 1.17v? (no idea what you have to set it to in bios to do that at load).
today I bought two 2500K both with Batch # 3047A890
It is from Costa Rica as it is begins with the number "3", also it seems to be an early batch(2000 week 47).
I have a Biostar TP67XE and in the BIOS it shows cpu "request vcore" which is VID related... (if not in fact the actual chip's VID). Those three chip samples from the same batch all had different "request vcore" and the 1.21v sample was the best clocker out of the three.

Ryzen 9 on the test bench... Sometimes older generation/tech as well.
Well since at default setting it showed a VID of 1.20 I manually set it to 1.20v in bios. Under load in CPUZ it dropps below that 1.20v, not sure if it was 1.189 or 1.198v.
Just ran at 4.5Ghz with a bios setting of 1.28v & that may can be lower, I just popped it there from what a friend said his ran 4.6 at just as a test with mine.
Sorry this is all very new to me so I'm abit lost on some of the setting.
Is it normal for the muti to drop, say from x45 to say x40 when putting it under a load? Is there a setting I'm missing or something?
When I use the presets in bios like 4.4 it doesn't do the muti drop under load. But it gives it way more vcore than it really needs to do that clock speed.
At x46 I'm getting a lockup at boot with a post code of A3 witch is hand off to IDE X45 passes no trouble.
Test setup:
2600K
Asrock P67 Extreme6 (B3) Edit: bios version 1.60v came out yesterday using now, board came with 1.50v but was a really bad bios. 1.60v is some what better at OCing.
G.Skill 1600 7-8-7-20 1.35v 2x2GB
Doesn't look good to me for this chip or the motherboard. One or the other is the culpit.

What's your best BCLK with the 2500K \ 2600K that will boot to OS & post?
