Like a cold chip performance issue.

Anyway no progress with 32m yet so ran some maxmem last night.

    Dino,

I know i have to tune my particular rig but this is retarded, maxmem and waza con't come close to making this up. not that it matters for whatever reason maxmem and waza are doing nothing on this system even after a few diff installs.

On a side note hard drive is a 74 gig raptor.......prior was some 80Gig WD......

Cheapseats what temp are you running the cpu at or keeping it under?
nope, still on water. no point in insulating the board if it is 4 seconds slower than the M4E. i wanted to test on water first to ensure it wasn't cold
that was causing the memory clocking problems i had on the M4E.

under load the core running gets to 40C max.

as for sub timings, i too did one at a time and tested each. most don't show any gains, but tightening any of them didn't cause my time to slow.
this is something bigger than a single sub timing.

i was using a POS SSD and was thinking this morning as i got up if i should try a SATA. gonna also start messing with other BIOS's. but Brian is
right...this is retarded and not worth my time to be honest.

any chance you have a different rev of board Dinos? after the UD9 bullshyt, i don't rule anything out.

    ****edit - solved***
there it is. thanks for the images of the BIOS Dinos

it is the "No Execute Memory Protect"...needs to be disabled. flick of a switch

what have you done to that time compared to before??? timings are sick ok, but hell this is a damn nice run on 2500K

due to all that talking about subtimings and ram I tested that crappy C43 a bit more and will show something better only by sub-tweaking in some minutes

that topic went all crazy, you guys keep pushing it

    @3oh6 or chew*

So does the "No Execute Memory Protect" realization now rule out the previous findings about the sub timings not having an effect, or not actually appearing to be applied?

Or is that still up in the air?

The issue was the performance with it enabled was low thus impacting maxmem and waza least for me, now when i tune something i can see the diff easily.

Of course part of the reason i can run retarded timings is my ram is preety sick.......i tried a known weak set, couldn't come close to the timings or ability to set them that low.

Dumo i'm in for a decent 2500K if your selling one, I have some business to continue with the 2500 class
