Looks like MC is marking up the SB's just to mark them down in a "sale" in their stores.

I'll probably get a SB or two sometime even though they only have 4 cores

Really trying hard not to buy in to SB 1155, I want to replace my i7 920 with a 6-8 core SB and the PIIx6 with BD just to keep the fanboy's at bay
Maybe a third efficient/cool/dedicated cruncher is in need

Sheesh! At least post some links of peddlers that stock them Dave.

San Marcos Fry's is about 5 miles from my house. Maybe I'll just go there on Sunday.

Hey MM Add 1 2600K to the up and running count. Perhaps you could keep a running tally in the 1st post?

It's currently running stock. Any OC tips? It's running in an MSI P67A-GD65. It took several attempts just to get it to post. No beeps. No error codes. Just silence and a black screen. Finally a long CMOS clear got her up and running.

Holy bleep. Micro Center was a nightmare!!! There were approximately 100 people in line waiting to get in 10 minutes after the scheduled opening. I placed my order online. It showed 9 procs in stock. It turns out the procs weren't supposed to be available for in store pickup ordering. They canceled my order. All I got was a mobo. I stopped by Fry's on the way back. They had the 2600Ks in stock at $319. MC only had 2600s. It was worth paying more just to avoid another 90 minute drive. It also got the system up and running today instead of next week.

I did take an old Q6600 OCed to 3.2 offline. It probably wasn't doing enough work for the power consumed.

If there is a count going add me as well.

    +1 SB 2600K.

It'll take a few days for it to ramp up and really start showing some numbers.

Being the impatient SOB that I am, after some more reading, I raised the multi to 41. Everything is in auto. V-core jumped to 1.240 from1.144. I changed the Dram multi to get the rated 1600. Performance in IntelBurn Test equaled or exceeded my 980x@ 4147. Looking good so far.

Dumb question. Why does Intel include on board graphics when none of the mobos give you a place to plug in your monitor.

Cause Sandy Britches also works in the H67 chipset witch does have onboard VGA
Try the 45 multi with vcore at 1,3v, everything else default except enable PLL override and see how she goes.
If you have a kill a watt also plug in and let us know..

Okey Dokey. As a Mexican might say: Manana. I don't have the squiggly thing that needs to go over the n. You know what I mean. I've done enough work for today and worked OT yesterday. This wasn't a real weekend. I need to burn some of my vacation days. 4 more weeks on the 26th.

Hmmm... if you were serious when you started this thread MM, there should be an active SB count updated as systems go live.

Despite angels telling me to buy food, guns and ammo to prepare for the inevitable, the devil is telling me to buy another SB. *#%&$@* you MM!
