    Mixing metals...

I know it's never recommended, but I mostly hear it's really bad to mix aluminum and copper. I want to buy a CPU block (Apogee XT) and it's made of copper but my EK VGA block is nickel-plated copper. Do you guys think this will pose any kind of problem?

Agreed.. No issues. I've been running both of these components for about a year with no problems.

if you have too much gold, the federal mint might crack down on ya for the illegal transport of rare metals. :P

But in seriousiness, when we say mixing metals, we mean metals which can have galvanic reactions to each other.

    Typically Alu + copper.

We tell everyone to watch out for steel as well.
It the steel is of poor quality, it will rust instead of corode and thats nasty as it is.

Copper, brass, nickel, stainless steel, silver, and gold are all OK.

Bad ones to mix with the above are aluminum and regular steel.
