Visual dev or studio, whatever it was called trashes your registry.
Granted with decent speed it's no biggy.

For me visual c runs but it always errors out when I compile anything.
Gcc works just fine, if the src is made for gcc in windows... :\

I know you don't have clear regs sometimes, there's alt ways to xor though..., depends on what regs you got free .

The reason you use asm is to save cpu and mem cycles.
Comparing at&t old school asm to new stuff, you can't.
It's not just about style, readablility and smaller code.
    It's about function.
At&t is there, but it's old.

I use a self modded compile of fasm, switching to something else other then fasm or nasm is a nogo for me ^^.

With gcc, inline asm is still screwed.
But at least it doesn't integrate into my os...

I forgot to mention that I tried ubunto last year, the live disk.
    Had some filesystem isues.
I've wanted to try net/freebsd, I don't if they are any good or not.

It's be nice to have win7 sp1 to slipstream .
Fix some of the probs in the original.
Have to get new files for themes though...
Umm GCC will never get an IDE [kinda violates the principles of the standard compiler] , What faults exactly do you have with Visual Studio. If you can be specific, I promise to fix them.
After decades of programming experience, I can assure you in terms of measured performance; assembly programming provides zero benefit for user space applications.
Perhaps you might prefer Oberon, over POSIX. As for a noob friendly BSD to try http://www.pcbsd.org/

As for issues with inline assembly in GCC, it just takes minor syntax modifications. Nothing that a simple perl script couldn't automatically do if you are so particular.
Fast computers breed slow, lazy programmers
The price of reliability is the pursuit of the utmost simplicity. It is a price which the very rich find most hard to pay.

Why does GCC need an IDE? Why can't you just use an existing IDE that is compatible with many languages and compilers, like Visual Studio, Netbeans or Eclipse? Compilers don't need IDEs to perform their function. Adding an IDE does not alter the function of the compiler, it is just a glorified text editor.

i hope they fix the wifi module... i have to disable and enable wifi every now and then cause it connects but i either dont get any data or its painfully slow...
might be a problem of my wifi module, but its intel, so... idk... sounds unlikely to me that its an intel issue, right?

Mine is working perfect, Intel 3945ABG from 2006. Last time you said you were running a preinstall on your laptop, now that could be the reason.
My friends brand new Sony Core i5 laptop refused to connect to the BT mouse, or the WLAN.
After a reinstall the number of processes dropped from 90 to 40 and everything worked as expected.

Win7 sp1 is being released to those in the know.
Should show up by morning I think.
For everyone else, supposedly it comes out in march.

    I don't know the crc's or sha1's or md5's at the moment.
    There are 2 ver's, the x86 and x64.

Pfft, not rocket science. It's on the news sites.

Bet everyone who wants to can download it as soon as it's leaked.
Wzor.net will have it shortly. As usually.

I've had tons of problems with Intel 5x00 WLAN cards. And I know several others that did as well. Their early drivers were ...
    Intel E8500 with Thermalright Ultra120eXtreme @ 3,6Ghz
    Asus P5E-VM HDMI
    Antec P180 Mini

Lol, you're not supposed to post my russian sources...
    lmao...
Seriously though you shouldn't be posting that so public like, remember napster...

Now on the other hand, posting "magnet" type of links might be ok.
Would it be ok mods ???

I could or someone else could post the magnet links if it's ok with the mods.
But we probably should not be posting torrent's , or posting sites either unless it's something like neowin...

Don't think posting magnets or torrents is OK. All I did is hinted where to look.

Shady Russian websites always working for the online community!

Getting the ISO myself from there, but it's just a matter of time until it reaches any other usual sharing place.

anyone can google those hashes and get to those sites. for those who think those sites are shady just don't download the iso and brag about them here.

lol i know thousands of good DDL links

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

I just read the Neowin page, and it says Microsoft spokesmen said the version floating around now isn't the final. It's near final, but not final.

Just a heads up for anyone that doesn't feel like redoing their OS when/if the real version comes out

I downloaded it and noticed that the modification date of every file (The installers inside the ISO, and also the thousands of files inside the installers) is November 20, 2010...

Did Microsoft have this Service Pack finished that early?
Maybe that Microsoft Spokeman is right and this version isn't really final.

Combine that with how much testing they usually do on everything and you got yourself a 2 month timespan.

Yeah that's supposed to be normal, the sp was in rtm branch since nov something or another.
Pretty sure it's the final, 99.9%.

What bothers me is you can't slipstream the darn thing :\.
There's the main exe's in the iso, and if you extract those there's yet another exe that is almost identical in usage.

The 1st one supports a hidden command, /x: or -x:, which lets you extract it.

The 2nd supports that command and another, /path:.
Which I assume is a replacement for the /i: or /intergrate command.
But that command keeps saying access denide on me, ticks me off.

I need a way of slipstreaming the sp without using 3rd party tools.
I don't trust them, they need a bunch of stuff to work right, and the last time I used nlite, for win2k3 raid, it modded files it shouldn't be touching.
Screwed up my vmr9 renderer somehow.

Why in the world would ms remove the slipstream option in win7...
This is the 1st time I noticed that, I dl'ed one of the early beta's but never used it.

Please tell me there's a way without using RT7Lite...
    Lol anyone ?
I'de hate to have to install original and then sp1 :\.

Supposedly dism doesn't work correctly, whatever that is.

That's an old download dude .
Just wait it out and it'll be out to the public soon enoughs, ... 2 months I read somewhere.

Otherwise, if you know what a hash set or checksum is, go for the legit leak...
As long as you double check if you didn't get it from the src it came from.
    That's what I'de reccomend anyways.

    Edit:
I'm interested in hearing about slip'ing this to the original disk.
What kind of success stories and what tool they used.
If I have to I'll install a os just to make this slipstreamed sp1 disk..., my current one is kinda messed and I'de prefer to go straight to sp1 but ohwell.

Sure, the legal links won't show up at day one, but I can wait.
It was a long time since I slipstreamed. .

That's what I was thinking too, wait it out a few days or so and maybe those will show up.
The prob is I'de be looking for a specific ver...

    x86 enterprise vlm+oem...
And the x64 equ as well just incase.

I never did get a ver better then enterprise for 2008 r2 either...
    Wanted datacenter.
    Perhaps this time around...

    Edit:
Ultimate retail is ok too, but I prefer to have the best I can find.

Exactly what are you missing in Ultimate compared to Enterprise, except for the support time?
Can't even see how that could be a problem tho since you obviously want the latest.
