Thanks I just added to all of the profile I had in there and seems to be working great.

The only issue now is how to raise above CCC clock limits in crossfire.

    Cheers

Unwinder posted about not using CCC overdrive in conjunction with AB... meaning the power control is should not be used due to compatibility issues.
On AB My MHz on core go to 1320 and mem goes to 1790 on crossfire.

Both CCC and AB just show 950 & 1450 limit.. I dont know if everyone else but me can get the higher overclocks..

I reloaded all software and made sure Overclock disabled. Not sure what else top do to get higher AB values.

if you want to up the limits it AB

    Use notepad to edit “MSIAfterburner.cfg”
Change the parameter of “EnableUnofficialOverclocking” from “0” to “1”.

Its in the AB install directory

I think it stops the card from lowering clocks while in 2d mode though.

That did open up wider overclock .. but like that when any setting is changed it gives BSOD and crash. I reloaded AB and CCC , but same . I had CCC disabled and sliders at default, Per what CobraXP mentioned,
    but something seems incompatible still

I have reset to lower value and running 950/1450 for now.
    Thanks for the assistance.

U have to change power settings in registry. Enable ULPS = 0 if not it will crash every change u make.

I have a set of Sapphire HD6950 flashed to Sapphire HD6970

I ran a quick test during lunch to make sure it worked at 1000/1450 @ 1.30v
It did Vantage fine. GPUZ still reads voltage at 1.175. My cards would not go past 945/1450 @ 1.175
There is also another way to do without changing the configs,
just force constant voltage in the setting of ab.

But I have problems using 1.3V, got a freeze or drivers resets when it's loading 3dvantage, with 1.275V no problem. but 1.275v doesn't work with 3dm06, I have to use 1.25V ...

Anyone got any advice on below???

Just flashed my 6950 ~ 6970..... it runs but I am getting random pixels at the start of 3DMark! If I increase the power thingy in CCC it gets worse so will leave that allone. Looks like the card wants the powerplay removed from the BIOS as once the bench has been running for a few seconds its perfect & completed the bench. It also furmarks fine.

I have read through this thread & will try the afterburner mod to up the voltage but would still appreciate suggestions.

artifacting is usually caused by too high memory clocks. try dropping them. Adding voltage to the core won't help the memory.

Anybody got the Diamond 6970 bios ? 925 Mhz on the Core per default would be nice enough for me, so no additional tools necessary.

Looks like it may be a bad card, still the same with stock BIOS, Fresh install + SP1 & 11.1a hotfix drivers.

Does enabling unoffical overclocking in Afterburner mess up powertune? I think that I remember hearing people mention that in the past. I've been pretty lazy with overclocking this card and am trying to figure out the best way to go about doing so. It's too bad that I can't just flash the clocks and voltage that I want onto the card.

Having artifacts show up in my windows aero interface

    EDIT:

Flashed with the MSI Bios, set my Voltage to 1.285, Core Clock to 925, and Memory Clock to 1375. This resolved my artifacting on the desktop, but haven't tested anything 3D yet.

GPUTool has TONS of artifacts... I am disappoint No problems with stock bios though. Getting late, will attack this again tomorrow...

That is a really high voltage isn't it?

I can run 950 Mhz with stock 6970 volts in my unlocked 6950.

My recommendation will be for you to follow the following flashing procedures...
