I've got this weird issue where my mouse (cursor) will freeze in game when i'm simultaneously pressing a key on the keyboard. if i'm not pressing a key the mouse doesn't freeze. this is reproducible. is it a usb issue like i think it is?

Could be a usb issue, also could be a driver, Which mouse you using mate ?
Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?
I had a similar problem with an IOGear KVMA switch and a Razer Lachesis mouse. I replaced the switch and all worked.
How many USB devices do you have plugged in?
How many games has this happened on?
Try a USB to PS2 Adapter.

Chances are you already have one.
Are both wireless and separate vs packaged products? If so, could be the transmitters/receivers conflicting. Also try updating drivers if you haven't and disabling HID devices if you haven't. The latter is a last resort, as it renders the device without being able to program buttons.
wow sorry i forgot i posted this, geez. my mouse is a mx518 (wired). saitek wired keyboard, printer, etc. all these things were used on my previous setup with no issue. it started when i moved over to my new x58 set up.

If you're on W7 try running the mouse driver in a compat mode for the previous OS you used if by chance you changed OSes.
its the exact same os (had to reactivate because of the new chipset) but it seems to be behaving better now. i'll post back if something goes awry again. thx guys
