Swiftech to release Full Cover for Radeon HD6970

We are pleased to announce the upcoming HD6970 true full cover water bock for Radeon 6900 series. The True full Cover Design solution uses all available mounting holes, and therefore prevents the PCB to bend, either during shipping, or handling. It also protects fragile components during handling/installation of the assembly.

    General Design features:
    GPU cooling: 0.6 x 0.6mm pin matrix
    Moderate pressure drop
Liquid cooled VRM's with hard contact to block for perfect TIM
    Compatible with large compression fittings
    Compatible with stock HD6970 back-plate
    Removable VRM copper plate
    Compatible with: HD6970 and HD6950

    ETA for introduction: Mid January

Intial test results are as follows:

    Bench setup:

    CPU: see data
    CPU Cooler: Apogee XT
    Radiator: MCR320 Drive, Pump @ max speed, 3 x Gentle Typhoon fans @ 12v
Loop setup: serial; quick disconnects: x 4
    GPU: HD6970 engineering sample

    Test results Summary:
GPU temps at 990Mhz x 1450Mhz under Furmark extreme burn 1920x1080 windowed mode : 43.19C with air ambient of 23.79C and coolant temp of 30.93C

    Needs internals.

Also, I'm really not sure about the looks - to be honest the logos and lettering look like something you'd find on a game cartridge from the 80s.

If you're going to put a sticker on it, make it sorta flashy ... that looks like some product from the early 90s.
I'd rather see bare materials like EK's blocks... just make it simple.

I prefer to have a solid piece of copper connecting everything. This reminds me of the old WB design that EK used to do. DD has been doing a good job with their full cover blocks as of late. The VRMs get hot on all the new graphics cards. I'm glad to see swiftech doing gpu full cover blocks, but I'd pass on this one.

Wow 6970 almost at 1000 core, nice!! The looks of the block not the best gabe hehe, definately needs an improvement but good work swiftech

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

Personally I'd be happy with a swiftech logo, its already there in the corner, just move it to the center and make it a bit bigger instead of having 6970 written there.

    oh poo
If you wanted to engrave more, just engrave the picture you have on the sticker! I think that'd look nice.

How about leaving the sticker on a piece of paper so i can choose to not stick it on?
Or would it interfere with RMA if i peeled it off?

I'm not quite sold on it but, meh, its a start.

    EDIT:
    I think this looks better
    V2

Anyways, I tried to incorporate the grid pattern that Swiftech tends to use on some of your boxes.

    V3?
