    My 1100T has arrived

Any speculations how it will clock on a CIV with 8 GB of me (2*4GB). It will be aircooled with a Thermalright Venomous X w/upgraded fan

Nope, because we don't know your ambients, what PSU you'll use, if you will put it in a well ventilated case and so on. And even then it wouldn't make any sense to speculate IMHO.

    PSU - Corsair Ax-850
    Ambients ~21.6
    Case - Lian-Li PCA77F

Guess I need to draft up a sig with all that information...

Should be able to get past 4GHz easily, likely to get to 4.2, hard to predict anything ahead of that.

Either I dont know what I am doing, I suck at buying chips or my board is holding me back LOL. Wont do 4.2 with any reasonable voltage. Right now I am trying to get it stable at 4125 after that I will see how well the NB/CPU does.

I had mine on air and 4.1ghz was stable, but I don't think 4.2 would have been. I wasn't using any high end air though. I would call that a good OC if you can get all six cores stable with a decent voltage. Anything higher may be a stretch for 24/7 stable.

Theres quite a few places you can get the 1100T from in the UK, although I don't think £220~ is worth the extra 100MHz over the 1090T, which you can get for ~£170. Still though, be interesting to see what the 1100T can do. My bet is on its a super binned 1090T and won't clock that much better, if at all.

So far it was worth ~100 MHZ@ around the same voltages of my 1090T. The deal breaker for me will be what the northbridge does so far i have it at 2500 chugging away at 1.23 volts for 3 hours.

IMO unless you can get the NB to 2800~ you won't see much of a advantage, if any. There will be too much bottlenecking and bus saturation going on.

Yeah i am hoping for 3000 I am still stability testing 4.1* and 2500 it just passed 3 hours so I am gonna take it up a little more to 2750 and test again.`

Fingers crossed for 2750+ She will start to fly if you can make it past that.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that all the chips I buy seem to be voltage hungry compared to similar setups. I checked the 1100T thread and seen you was able to do 4.17 @1.47. If I lowered it to this voltage prime95 will run for 6 minutes before blue screening and rebooting

You sure cooling isn't a issue? My Deluxe3 needed huge amounts of chipset voltage until I ripped the cooling off, lapped it, reapplied some TIM and remounted everything with screws and nuts. In your case, the FETs may just be getting pretty hot, thus needing more voltage to stay stable because of exess heat.

Nothing impressive thus far. The Cinebench 4.2 runs with my 1090T were unstable just stable enough to complete a bench

Tomorrow I will take the day off to pull the heatpipes and give them a little TLC. It took 1.30 to get the NP/CPU stable. 2750 ran all day at 1.24

Got the NB stable @ 3.0 ghz temps dont exceed 55* C and the mem is running at 1666 up from 1333. Tonight I will remove the heatsinks on the board and reapply some TIM

Thermalright Venomous X nevermind missed it. How do you like this cooler? How high can the stock cooler take X6's?

have you ever tried just OC'ing by changing the multipliers instead of HT? could possibly lead to lower voltage requirements as perhaps you run into a wall.

You could prolly get to about 3.6-3.7 on the stock cooler as that is where turbo will take you but anything beyond tht will genereate to much heat. Yes I like the cooler I did upgrade the fan to a Scythe F series fan for better cooling and it seems to be doing well

I really want to know where this 2750 number came from. rule of thumb is that you want a 1.5:1 to 2:1+ nb/ram ratio for optimal efficiency.

Nothing special happens as soon as you hit 2750...or 2800. Some real bandwidth pops up at 3000+.
