Alright, so I broke down and ordered one.
    Although,
Has anyone actually had experience with the refurb models? If I had to guess, the replacement parts are "new and updated"; would this in turn make it an OCZ PSU?
I'm just making sure it's still seasonic quality parts

It came in, running, but 12v is measuring only 10.3v, by hwinfo32 & hwmonitor, bios says 11.88v.

But I'm still going to order this, LOL.
Me too I have a corsair tx 750w still in a box but this is a great PSU that I really like - might pick up another one too...

Thanks again man for the killer deal!

Edit: I forgot to mention, this saved me from buying a Rosewill! I was on a tight budget... glad Mysticmerlin saw your post and was kind enogh to pass on the info. Merry Christmas!
Rosewill isn't that bad just pick a higher quality one. My Dad had an Antec which crapped out after two years I replaced it with a Rosewill that's been running since AMD 939's came out. Just my 2 cents.

Got mine in today. Anyone know of a really cheap PSU tester???? This was a backup drive and I really don't have a PC to take apart to test it

Bought one for me new build, better than the antec earthwatts I was planning on, 380w was pushing it for all my HDDs.

    And I've always wanted a PCP&C!

Guys don't trust software or BIOS voltage readings. Even a $300 mobo has inaccurate sensors, a $5 DMM from harbor freight is more accurate (yeah how sad is that).

Your system couldn't be operating if the 12V was actually 10.3V. It wouldn't be able to boot.

I should probably test mine. I haven't pulled it out of the box yet.

^^ That would be great if you could test yours. I just ordered one at midnight & am kind of leery about the Quality of recertified PSU's...should be just as good as new no? My 500W Silencer has proven to be a champ, I'm sure the 750W is even mightier!

    compared to what?

these psu's are not Silent.. not by far..

they use a single 80mm fan in the rear.

There great psu's but not something u want to throw in a silent machine.

I ended up paying 175 dollars for my 750 silencer when they first came out.
Fell in love with pcnc ended up buying a 1kw SR after that.

Tested, mine works fine. Sorry for not getting these numbers posted earlier.

    12V rail: 12.16V
    5V rail: 5.05V
    3.3V rail: 3.38V

    Quite healthy

And guess what... Directron STILL has more of them available. I wonder how many they have.

    both of mine run beautifully.

the only drawback is the cables... there's a LOT of them, they're fat and long and hard to hide in a case.

But I still may grab another.

This is most likely a bad reading... Get a multimeter and measure manually while idle and under load

waiting on my RMA... Hope I get a good one back.

That, and how the cables are only half-sleeved. Only to the first plug... weird. Makes it look half finished

I've got a red 750W Silencer in my current build. I'm planning on a new build once I get some numbers on Bulldozer vs Sandy in April. Should I get it at this price now, or wait and just get everything together at whatever price it's at then?

This is a pretty killer deal, Can handle dual GPU SLI of just about anything out + a powerful OC'd system... for $40... with a Warranty... I am sure I just had bad luck and Directron is RMA'ing a replacement.
