    RMA at Intel, mission impossible?

    I have a i5-750 which died ~2 days ago, processor is dead, D-E-A-D.
    I have tried to call Intel RMA center, and if there is one thing that they cannot handle, it is the truth.

    How the hell to RMA a bloody processor???

    I need to find some fairy tale....

    1st call;
    "Did you buy the processor?"
    "No, the processor was given to me by a vendor"
    "Im afraid we cannot help you sir"
    "But it is a fully retail box"
    "I am not authorized"

    2nd call;
    "Hi I called in 10 min ago, and was refused RMA; yet this product is surely covered by RMA"
    ... a long dialog, and all processor details given.
    "Do you have the invoice?"
    "Ofcause not"
    "Im afraid I can only offer you technical support"

    How hard can it be just to RMA a bloody i7-750????
    Why does Intel RMA center suck donky onion...

    By god, do I need to call Intel and make them fix it internally??? This RMA is a JOKE!

    Intel RMA > Asus RMA?

    My board has a broken fan tab and a missing PCI-E slot tab. That means "physical damage" and warranty is invalid. The actual problem is 2 non-functional RAM slots.

    I "need" CID-RMA, which isn't available in the UK apparently. That service is my only way to get Asus to accept the board to carry out a warranty repair.

    Catch-22 of FAIL

    I am shouting pretty loud....

    By the end of this week, Intel will have to fix this internally.... This situation is simply unacceptable for me.

    I don't see the issue. If you have no warranty you cant demonstrate that you bought the product ergo you have no right on a warranty.

    The invoice justifies the date of purchasing, so it shows a reference as when the warranty starts and when it ends. Without that proof...you are on your own.

    Strange at least for Intel Australia rma of processors they never ask for invoice or receipts. Here in Australia all they ask for is cpu heatsink serial number and details of cpu IHS

    Except the fact that the product was released less then 18 months ago, and Intel has a 36 month warranty.
    And that it is a BOXED processor and I have THE box as well (match as for FPO..)

    And no, I did not buy the product, like pretty much all other of my processors, it was given to me. (not by Intel as for this one)

    Meaning;
    If the product was purchased on release date, there is still more then 18 months left of warranty..

    Exactly, and later today someone from Intel helped me out, unfortunately after last message, the center has closed 26 min ago.
    Tomorrow I will call Intel again, and make sure to get an email and reference number, then I'll hand it over to our Intel man here at XS

    With all the people that you know in the hardware world Marc, you can't RMA a CPU ? go straight via the top, not the support guy at the bottom... he's just doing his job...
    Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

    Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    DrWho dislikes me since I said Will.I.Am as director at Intel is a joke, so wont count on his advice.
    I will try to contact my PR about this - alternative; I'll throw the general manager of Scandinavia & Benelux an email if nothing works out, but a few more windows before going to that far.
