going water or l2n isnt really gonna improve your clocks ,not like i7's.. Im sure it will help temps though!! Im sure you can hit 4.5ghz easily even 5ghz depending if you grab a good chip..

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?
I got this info from GBTaiwan, some of these new BIOS updates may not be able to flash from BIOS itself.
Please use new released version @BIOS 2.10:
http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Utili..._gbt_atbios.exe
Hope,they will fix this soon.
Btw,
P67 and H67 boards listed on the Gigabyte website.

Thanks again stasio! i am surprised they posted them now, they are the first ahead of ASUS and EVGA
@BIOS will not work with windows 7 ... need windows XP to flash the bios if you are using the beta ones...but official BIOS are being recognzed by Qflash ...updated my ud7 to F4 and seems ok ... have tried the 2600K that I borrowed and 4.8Ghz is doable on air... seems like the processor is the one thats holding back since i tried it on ud7, ud5 and gd55 and all are getting 4.8xxGhz only... F4 bios is better than f3 since f3 is displaying weird voltages in ET6.
i can't wait for their official sell date

Hey all,
Just looking on ram recommendations for this board. Will be going for ~4.5ghz from a 2600k (/w Venomous X). So far I think the Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 8GB 2X4GB (~$150CAD) would be the best fit. I could go Dominators (CMT8GX3M4A1866C9 - ~$250) but their ROI seems somewhat low. Thoughts and advice much appreciated. Will also be throwing in 2x6970s and 850W Corsair AX (and whats required from sig below).
Silver Bullet VII
Corsair 750D | Corsair AX 850W | Core i7 2600K | Thermalright Venomous X | Asus Maximus IV Extreme B3
eVGA GTX680 SLI | Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB | Intel 530 240GB | 2 x WD RED 3TB in RAID 1 | LG BluRay | 3 x 2413WFP
Have a look at G.Skill and Mushkin offers.
Waiting to buy a 2500k or 2600k with a good board and ram. What is everyone else going with?
Looking to do 4.5 to 5ghz on water 24/7

my gskill 2133Mhz perfect storm working perfectly.... XMP being detected properly... been playing with a 2600K stable at 4.7 ghz with venomous x and temps around 70's-75's when running IBT's but have not optimized the voltages yet ... vcore @ 1.4V ... if I go beyond 4.7 ghz, then vcore needs to be bumped to 1.45v ... and btw i am only using one fan on the VEX a delta 0.8A fan

- lemme check what the NDA says .... i dont want to be penalize hehehe or maybe just blurred the procs and stuff in the screenshots ...LOL
Are we allowed to talk about OCing because that woudl be awesome. I think you can take Vcore to 1.54 max, as i saw somewhere. Also I do not think temperature has much effect on OCing, do you see the same thing?
Channel 0 most likley. IDK
BTW if you are having problems with @BIOS, download the version off their website!!! it works with x64 windows 7.
Can you fit slot 1 and 2 when using big air coolers?

OK inna nutshell.... besides the Gigabyte offereing , taking that out of the equation...what does SB really deliver in terms of performance gains with gaming..
is it in competition with the x58 platform enough to reconsider changeing over?? ( obviously we are seeing some pretty impressive resluts with the OC) but in the end..does it give x58 or surpass x58 in overall performance.
there seems to be so much hype for and against from review sights to forums... even to the point im seeing the 980x being closed in on at stock settings...
Please someone, shed some light on the subject, and help a confused old soul LOL
Please someone answer flashnc question, that is just what most of us want to know.
I guess that if you are running multi gpus x58 is better, but really don't know. If I already had an x58 I wouldn't be thinking on changing till 2011 socket. I'm planning on building a new rig, i thought on a i7 950, asus sabertooth and 6gb of 1600mhz ddr3 ram, but now, seeing what SB can do it's hard to decide... well at least in two weeks we will know everything about them.

Do you guys think we will see a full cover water block for this board? It looks like one of their prototypes actually had a water block. I've heard those NF200 chips can get pretty hot.
Without opening case? you can always use a soldering iron. J/K I find that if it is unstable it will revert back to stock, after a few reboots. Yes Use the @BIOS on main website it works fine with windows 7 X64.
What does this platform offer?
Other than native SATA6G and tons of USb3.0, as well as a processor that OCes very good on air and water, and a nice IMC, just really great performance.
I have had no trouble with NF200 getting hot, I doubt that is what you are going to be worrying about getting hot. Only a few phases need to be used for the processor so i am guessing most of the heat is going to be pulled away through heatpipes from the NF200 heatsink. With a 220GT my system pulls less than an i7900 series TDP at max oc from the socket. Imagine that.

I am quite sure I'll be buying this board and a 2600K, however, I'm unsure what RAM to get. I'm looking at this Corsair 2x2gb DDR 2000mhz kit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145317
What I don't understand is how the RAM speeds fit with the unlocked multiplier and how this plays out.
Is it worth getting the 2000mhz kit over a 1600mhz kit? Or should I get a 8gb kit (2x4gb)?
