    E6500 2.93GHz only runin at 1.6GHz

Hey all i have a problem and any advice would be very appreciated.
first im going to start off with the problem then list my hardware specs.

i have a program easytuner (provided by gigabyte) a program that lets you
overclock in windows. im not really going to use it to overclock but i opened
it and saw that my cpu is a 2.93 GHz and is only runin at 1.6 or 1.7GHz.
can anyone tell me why this is??
Ive opened my bios and checked and my cpu frequency is correct at 2.93GHz

    System specs:
    Intel Pentium(R) Dual-Core E6500 @ 2.93GHz
    Gigabyte GA-EP45t-USB3P
    2GB DDR3 PC3-1066 1333MHz (Patriot)
    ATI Radeon HD 5770 (XFX)

    Hi!
Check if it goes up when you stress test it. You can download LinX from here.
If it does, then it's cause of EIST and/or CxE enabled in BIOS
Personally, I like power saving features and don't mind having them active even while overclocking.

it sounds like your board could be under volting your cpu if you have everything on auto, you shouldn't ever let your board control your hardware voltages without your consent on the voltages chosen.

6 x 266 : 1.6Ghz, it's definetaly EIST, CEIST or whatever they want to call it... seems a sortlike question returns every few months :p
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree
