Waitaminute?! The results show that the 580 GTX loses ~ 5 FPS on average when going from 4xAA to 16xCSAA and from 8xAA to 32xCSAA , and still be over 60 FPS in playability?! SWEET!
Thanks for the update Kitguru!

Hysteria over nothing, move along people, nothing to see here. This should apply to the "other" thread too, but well, people are so colored at times with their fanaticism.

I was just about to go on a huge rant about nVidia and driver cheating, until I read the article and posts in this thread.
What we see here is an example of a driver bug fix, for example Hawx.exe uses odd and funky FSAA calls, nVidia have coded against this bug, so when Hawx.exe requests 4xFSAA it delivers 4XFSAA as opposed to 16XCSAA. If you rename Hawx, exe the driver does not know when to deploy this bugfix, so if you run Hacks.exe, the game calls for 16XCSAA even if you set 4XFSAA in game... this is a BUG. All that nVidia have done is implemented a fix which ensure that 4XFSAA = 4XFSAA.
Both nVidia and ATi (Catalyst Ai) use application detection BUG FIXES and believe it or not, it is a good feature and benefits gamers. For example, FSAA would not be possible in Bioshock DX10 were it not for an Application Detection Function.

Is this going to start be a "monthly thing" like the AMD cheats?
If it is can we give it a rest for awhile, for like 3 months or so.
C'mon. Kitguru...
Someone isn't going to get pre-release hardware to review anymore.
Why does it matter? It's not like there is much incentive to invest in hardware because of dying PC game quality.
I am sure the crap flinging from both sides of the fence has just begun. Round 3 coming all too soon.
