Evga sr-2 classified | evga gtx 580 quad sli

Fugger stopped into Detroit to bench some 3DMARK VANTAGE with me on the EVGA SR-2 CLASSIFIED and EVGA's new NVIDIA 580GTX. Were gonna "keep pushin it" as Oliver would say

    System specs:
    EVGA CLASSIFIED SR-2 + DUAL X5680's DRAGON F1 GEMINI LN2 Cooled
    EVGA GTX580 TEK-9 SLIM (QUAD) / FAT(single gpu) LN2 Cooled
    GSKILL PERFECT STORM
    EVGA CLASSIFIED 1200W PSU X2

I think it more appropriate to say you will keep "King-pinning" it!

nice gpus clocks, and 7 pots... damn...
you know what, if youd try to come up with a way to boil as much ln2 as quickly as possible... youd end up with pretty much the same thing
silicon chips are pretty much the best way to convert power into heat...

    isnt that ironic?
you pretty much built a giant ln2 kettle ^^

id actually like to know the W/frame stats of this thing
would be hilarious to see that its insanely high, probably 50x higher than a normal pc and 150x higher than a laptop
how much power is required to create 1L ln2? does anybody know?

Hey Vince.... what happened to the RAM/IMC/board? Only single-channel?

very nice runs man. Looks like you've got plenty of juice left in the system also!

I believe the system I was looking at that generated ~2 liters a day pulled just over 1kW. So call it 12kWHr for a liter of ln2 with a small and likely highly inefficient system. Considering how we can get LN2 for ~30 cents per liter and electricity in bulk must be around 5 to 7 cents per kWhr and they must make atleast a 5-10% profit I would guesstimate that they are looking at 3-4 kWHr per liter. Sounds about right if I compare it to the electrical costs if I were to try and do that via multiple cascades compressors.

Looks like we got dumped for Charles Petey. I'm surprised that the GT1 apparently has so much more left in it. Looks like the 580's super strong openers are helping big time.

Btw, the black tops on the containers look kickass even when they're all prepped like that.
