Well if you want one TEC then I'd get a 12v or a 17v meanwell, maybe a 24v if you really want close to the full Qmax. If you plan on using multiple TECs then 24 or 48v PSUs are a must.

Well for my block with that TEC i recommend a 15 volts meanwell cos it has a 10% voltage adjustment on the rated value.

350watts isn't enough mainly because of the high start-up amps required

    I just got mine today.
It's the same tec as what fusionmkx has as a water chiller.
    But I've only got one.

    12709 TEC 136.8w 40mm.
Some people sell them as 90w's, some as 100w's and others as 136.8w's.
Hard to say really what wattage it is without going on google or something.

The labled side, on mine was the cold side.
Mine didn't say anything on it except 12709 which is the part # or model, whatever.

I tested at 20v 1-2w (was a cheapo phone dc adapter for some long gone cordless phone I must of had).
    Worked at that setup.
Was enough to warm up a cold heatsink and show just a tiny bit of condinsation from my finger print.

I got it for $1+1 sh from ebay.
The reason I got it, TEG experimentation.
Was able to pull off 0.06v with it press against my window and the other side I had my finger pressed against it.
Not much at all, but that was just a crappy experiment, I'm sure there's method's of doing this a bit better then that lol.
With that info at hand, I calc'ed that it would take 300 of these tec's to make a teg array that puts off 16v, wattage I don't know but I'de hope it would be decent.
Normally I would expect to get 12v+ out of a single teg but I'de have to get a good setup to have it cold on one side and hot on the other.
That at the moment I'm not worried about.

    Anyways.
I was wondering if you guys had any use for tec's these days?
Anyone tried teg arrays to feed back into a single tec?
And is it true that in order to pull of something like 100w's of cooling, you must use about 250w's of consumed power?

    Edit:
Btw, love the mem cooling idea.
As long as it's economical in some way I'm totally for that hehehe.
I've super cooled ram before it's the only way I know of to break them in for higher speeds, ie if it wasn't stable at one speed, the only way to break it in is to super cool them and run pi on them until they break in.
After a certain amount of break in, they'll beable to eventually run at that speed stable at normal temps.
In the past, I opened my window during the winter to achieve that, but my mom would allways freak out..., that and freezing to death wearing 2 blankets wasn't to much fun.

    One more edit:
Now I'm in the mood to get a few silver ingot bar's and get them melted down in a mold for a mem cooler...
    Mmm...
That's a darn good idea, I gotta wait a while though for that, need some extra cash.
    Thinking of a old school 2x256m ch-5 run .

    NO it's NOT true

TEC's can have a COP FAR greater than one, as long as you undervolt them
