Awesome guys! Glad my little gtx 260 is putting out good numbers, how much better does the 400 series do?

IMHO Waste is a computer going to a landfill having done actual computations less than 90% of it's life. 90% of the computers powered on right now are idle or powered off; what a waste! [/B]
Is it a coincidence that your wifes pc is called Uranus?
Go Team!
Who's for setting the 1st best?
Looks like the 460s are having issue since they're not yet optimized. Only using 2/3 of the cores apparently...
To my understanding, that's according to PPD/Watt...Originally Posted by skgiven GPUGrid
Seems like the 460 is similar to the 260 till they get the 2/3rds issue resolved.

With that it brings our Supercomputer week to a close. Good going team, we've certainly put out some good numbers this past week
Not sure on how long it takes for them to optimise the wu's for all the new cards that come out, but considering when the 400 series came out it's not the fastest of processes. You could always buy a 560 and report back on how they compare to a 460 / 260

To my understanding the optimizations have to do with the large structural change when they jumped to the Fermi based arch. Since both the 4xx and 5xx series are based on the same arch, once they get the optimizations done for one, they automatically get an optimization for the other (even though there could be further small optimizations that are different for each series, the biggest jump would have already been achieved.) So by that logic, there's really no more difference between a 4xx/5xx than between 240/260.
But then again, that's from talking to a professor of mine and not anyone from GPUGrid so take it with a grain of salt.
