If graphic card cooler looks sexy to you, then i succest you to go see psychiatrist
Disain looks more efficent than 6990 tho.
The problem is, they are inconsistent. All cards not containing a GF100 or GF100b have their max board power listed and it gets confirmed in reviews. It's only the high end cards, where you get a significant and consisten discrepancy between actual measurments and declared power. How come?
Is this actually happening?
I love dual-GPUs on a single PCB. There's just something so enticing about them. Certainly a more beautiful card than single GPU variants.

This card is NVIDIA’s response to the latest HD 6990 card from AMD. Let’s compare the HD 6990 and the rumored GTX 590 specs side by side to see how they stack up:
Interesting.....
I have heard that it might be only slightly louder than the GTX580. If so this will be a big advantage for Nvidia.
I don't know if it is true or not. Even if the clocks are at only 600 core clock and it is this quiet it will be good for Nvidia.

what the hell do manufacturers screw up the design and put power connectors above cores .... common
That does looks very sexy!

If those are the final spikes, yikes for NV unless they price it at 599 which is unlikely.
I imagine the name change was the quickest damage control they could do finding out the final specs of the 6990 late, leaving room for a faster gtx 595 for slightly later date.
I don't think this card can be faster than the 6990 at the highest resolution. I wonder what the noise will be like and the power consumption will be like.
Core i7 920@ 4.66ghz(H2O)
6gb OCZ platinum
4870x2 + 4890 in Trifire
2*640 WD Blacks
750GB Seagate.
I hardly believe thoses are final clocks, maybe the one before Nvidia revise them. But it can be if, it's Nvidia reference one, and Evga have allready a Superclocked version who will be released at same time. Maybe Power consumption is the problem there, something AIB as Asus and Evga are not affraid. ( look the 550TI, there's even a 1014mhz OC reference version from Asus )
Why keep thoses clocks if the fan is so silent ? you can push it ( ofc TDP will rise up too ) .. and specially with the 6990 out.
Now if the card is really only 612/3400mhz. this bring a lot of question. a GTX480 had 702mhz core speed, the difference ( tested on TT ) is 5%-7% with 512SP unlocked at same speed ( highly dependant of the games, tesselation or PhysX used )... well even at 702mhz, the card performance should be around 570SLI level in the best case, so at 612mhz? It will never match a 6990 ( maybe in 1 or 2 games ) at 1920x1080, let's alone 2560x1600 and Surround/eyefinity. Ofc Nvidia have a panel of games where 5xx perform really well ( Dirt2, BC2, COD series ( i don't will push again the contested LP2 and Hx2). But im not even sure this will really be enough.
But when i read the article of Fudzilla, look like it's possible, it's not Fuad who have write it, but the global ton of the article compared to the previous one have radically change. no more " the fastest graphics card ", "should end faster of the AMD6990 " etc.... now we have " it should end up to be just a bit louder than the GTX 580. "

EPIC FAIL.
6990 will be FASTER if 590 will have 612Mhz core.

I knew I was not the only one.... haha. this however is very interesting if those clock are indeed true. however considering they have more Cuda cores, more ROPS and a higher bus width then say GTX 570's it might almost make up for the 100mhz clock disadvantage.... i stress MIGHT. and all Nvidia needs to do is get GTX 570 SLi perf out of this card because in most cases the GTX 570 SLI is faster then a 6990.... these cards could be DEAD even now that i think about it with the 6990 ekking out a win when the bios is changed to the 880mhz position.... but Nvidia could end up with lower noise, possibly less heat and Power Consumption.... only time will tell which is faster and the better buy.....
I am most interested in the overclock potential of this card however. considering that every single fermi based card has OCed like a champ I'm willing to bet this will to....

Wait a minute...they are saying TDP is 375W not 365W.
Oh well, the review date is only a few more days.

Bah, my PSU (PCP&C T12W) Only has three 8 pin PCI-E power plugs, how will I ever run two in SLI.

Ouch now i know why they have make the cooler "cleanable", look the angle of the fans ( and curve ), i have use several fans with this angle, and they aim the dust like no one.... But they are really silent and really effective.
Not a problem, this make a long time all of the high end cards have a 2x4pin 12V connectors (IDE) to 6/8pin PCi express converter cables if needed in the box .. use them.

And that's "average" TDP... 50W idle + 700W load = 375W average.
Depends how much juice your power supply is able to pump through those 8-pin connectors, when they will be running out of spec at stock already. There's also only 5 pahses per GPU, you might end up around stock 580 values, but at much higher temp and noise, wouldn't it be better to get two GTX570's for the same price?
