What to do with RAM chips on Tek-9 Fat

What should I do here? I don't want to leave them exposed, as that may be asking for trouble. I'll be putting a nice gasket around the GPU, but I still feel cold will migrate to the ram chips causing major condensation.

And how about the vregs in back. Just put a fan on them?

memory will get cold transfer dont worry about it but VREG man make sure you have a heatsink on them and a good contact with a fan blasting at it as well

get the sinks we fried a couple of cards > VRM on fire on fire (i actually thought it was some new LED light i havent seen when i noticed one of the cards on fire LOL and then it hit me >> James turn it of turn it off lol)

costs you nothing just 10 minutes of messing around to stick them on someway heh

we used an infrared thermometer to check the temps and the TMM gets fooled by the cold air coming out of the pot but you can if you are persistent enough catch a glimpse of the real temps and when i saw 96C (cold air was mainly fooling it to report about 35C or something stupid) i thought OK time to shut it down.

the vregs stayd 30-50c...with vcore adjusted to 1.35-1.4v.

increasing vcore did increase heat...

q56 here is mine after 1hr30min full pot session with just fan (I am in 45F garage though so maybe sinks would be better for you) Card is robust though, no need for stupid hairdryer atleast

The GF110 is so much bigger than the surface contact on the Tek-9.



I'm not brave enough yet to do any voltage hardmods, lol!



One of Kingpin's methods: He's right the grey tape comes right off, so I can probably reuse this backing over and over.


I've got to figure out way to attach these. Hopefully ceramique will hold them on sufficiently. I don't have a heatsink for the top vreg, hopefully fan will be ok. What do you guys think?

looks great man if anything to error on the side of too much insulation is better than not enough.

Try to find some rubber bands / elastics durable enough to withstand the eventually deep frezze or use multiple (redudancy)

How are the headsinks connected to pwm, thermal tape or also some sort of adhesive?

I first thought they were on good with ceramique, but after I booted to make sure everything was working, they started to slide down, lol! So I did what oliver suggested and used a rubber band (Thanks oliver!). It's not perfect because the force of the rubber band pulls the heatsinks together, leaving a few mm of the bottom vrm exposed. But I guess that will be ok.
