    New i7 950 System needs a PSU

    Hello all

So, i'm finally getting ready to build my new i7 system but i need some advice. at the moment my system specs out as such:
    Asus Sabertooth x58
    Intel Core i7 950
    6x2GB OCZ Reaper DDR3 1600 CL6
    2x EVGA GTX470 SLI
    Crucial RealSSD C300 64GB boot
    2x2TB WD Green for storage
    2x sata CD/DVD 24x burner

i still have yet to pick a PSU, which is where i need your guys' input. i was looking at a few articles and reviews and found some saying that 2x GTX470 SLI system really only requires 800W max.

i found a few PSU calculators online and filled those out with my specs and none of them recommended anything over 850W.

i would like to get some input from users with a similar set up just to ensure i go big enough, but not too big.

i plan on OC'ing a bit but not until i get a watercooling loop set up to run on that PSU as well sometime in the future.

many thanks to any and all advice/input

    Budget=~$200

I think there is a better PSUs.

    go to jonnyguru.com
and go through their PSU reviews.

i've seen a few good reviews on seasonic. do you think 750 is enough power for my system?

those xfx are bad they will shut off once if u overload them then they will kill your system if u do it again. look at the JG review on it

if u want cheap the corsair tx is better and cheaper than that

i would say no since i dont trust abs but i dont know whats in it so i cannot give a definitive answer, the psu is not something that u want to skimp on it will control how much line noise u get on the rails and that controls how u can clock, and you dont have to keep buying one when u upgrade if u get a solid unit

coolermaster is not a reputable psu brand, corsair seasonic or if u need cheap and low watt then ocz modX pro, thats all i would use in general unless u look at reviews for the product from some ware like JG.

there are other brands with some good units like antec, xigmatec, pcp&c/ocz (high wattage) but u need to make sure that they are good unit

I think I'm going to go with the corsair professional series ax850. I really like the all modular design, the 80 plus gold efficiency rating, jonny guru recommended, and should power my system with some head room for oc'ing.

    Thoughts?
