[solved - yes] Is it worth upgrading?

I'm running two GTX570's in SLI (+one for PhysX, more on that below). Performance is stellar, especially since I'm not experiencing microstuttering at all. HOWERVER, I'm gonna breed my outputs (two Dells coming, so 3x U2412M there will be), so it seems that puny 1.25 GB of VRAM is too low to push any MSAA at 5760x1200. And I'm sick scared of OCing these cards, since I already fried one (ASUS pushed back RMA, no output, but counts ok - ended on last x4 PCI-e). 570s have castrated VRMs - 1/8th of chip cut, and 1/3 of VRMs. Sooo... 670 will do? I can easily swap two 570 (with Aquacomputer blocks) for 670, but will it be enough punch? Maybe second 670 will be needed?

You will most definitely need more than 1 gpu to handle that resolution where games are concerned. A single 670 will not cut it. With SLI 670s (2GB) you could get away with 2 - 4x AA in the majority of titles but if you like to mod things and run more demanding forms of anti aliasing, you might want to consider either the 4GB models or look at AMDs options.

    Thank you for reply
I'd like to stick with nVidia, because I've got serious discounts for EVGA cards with local retailer and I have constantly bad experience with Radeon drivers on my other machines
At this point with 1.25GB of VRAM on 570s I'm already running into memory problems, So with 3x display I agree that 4GB version is absolute need. http://poradnik.telewizor.eu/news.php
Given that, you're saying that I'm still looking for dual GPUs. Well... Judging from wide-spoken 3% difference between 670 and 680 one 680 still wouldn't cut it, right?

I would personally go with a pair of gtx 670 4 gig for what you are after, you could run decent on a single with no AA but probly not what your after.

get the 4GB cards, the 2GB is not enough for current games like bf3 or games with mods. also get one with a higher than normal vid so you can overclock, you can always lower it but you cannot raise it much if at all.
