For SSD's? Without a doubt 9240-8i. With the PERC5i you would be making out the controller with barely 2 drives.
As above. With SSD's I wouldn't touch a PERC5. Actually, I wouldn't touch it with performance HDD's either.
A somewhat middle of the line might be a last-gen Areca card or a PERC6. Great speed for HDD's, OK for some SSD use, and you should be able to find a card with on-board cache.
Dual CCIE (Route\Switch and Security) at your disposal. Have a Cisco-related or other network question? My PM box is always open.
Xtreme Network:
- Cisco 3560X-24P PoE Switch
- Cisco ASA 5505 Firewall
- Cisco 4402 Wireless LAN Controller
- Cisco 3502i Access Point
thanks guys! wasnt sure if I should go a PERC5i for $100 or a 9240-8i for $100
