wel for ist time im going with a new and cheap gpu ... wana c how much value for money this card turns out 2b
i need help n guidance in:
1. is it worth to take a risk with this gpu over evga sc n msi cyclone 460z?
2. ive seen few guys doing 900+ on this gpu with moded bios but cant find any temp or stability in games verdict wud likke to see sum.
2. what is max ocing u sparkle ownerz ve done with stock n default cooling n bios n volts
3. what max volts u personaly feel is gud for 850mhz+ on this gpu
i wud like if u guide me in this regard ... thankx

As for your questions ....

1. YES. The cooler alone is worth the money for that card over the Cyclone
2. I had a pair of ECS 460 Blacks which had the same cooler and with a modified bios hit 965 core that only maxed out at 78C.
3. You should be able to hit 850c at 1.087v

U MEAN 460GTX WITH BLACK FAN IS BETTER THAN PURPLE ONE? BUT WHY?

The last one is way better, the other (the first) got a relly crappy heatsink.

1 GHz on GTX460 is very difficult, especially on air. 900MHz is really possible though.

You will get 800mhz on stock voltage with any card.
With max voltage (1.087v) about ~900.
With unlocked voltage limit - maybe 950@1.15v+, and a LOT of heat.

unlock BIOS to overvolt , are not too many cards can run 1000 core , you can try it now
OC to 1000Core on Standard Stock Cooling , it not stable to run 3DMV , and too hot=(

I did quite a bit of reading about these cards and overclocks before I bought mine.

There does not seem to be one manufacturer who has a significantly better product than any other with regards to overclocking.
Ive seen decent overclocks on a variety of different cards (as you can see on the 460 OC thread)

A reference design should manage around 850 on stock cooling (assuming decent ambient temps) 900 with some extra voltage, more with better cooling +voltage if your lucky.

The only card that seems to be different is the Palit card as it has different heatsink mounting holes so you can use a wider variety of coolers.

Nobody can answer your question about exact clocks as every card and install is different. There is only one way to know for sure and thats to buy one and OC it

Why would we buy the reference cooled ones when they provide terrible cooling to the ones with aftermarket heatsinks?

ZEUS! ... every1 is not living in olympus ... so dis is wat ive in my area ... i cant pay 308$ for asus, 272$ for evga sc n msi cyclone when in 217$ this gpu is avail ... to me 8fps dnt worth paying 65$ xtra
