Criminal - UD5 booting is easy to fix ; set any unused channel in standard cmos to none, now I think all is set to auto. The same problem I have some time ago with UD7. All to none, and only this channel what You use to auto

    UD9 or R3E - my vote go for R3E, or maybe R3F ?

Life sometimes gets in the way of what we want to do.

980x has done 7050MHz on LN2 On an X58A-UD3R no less!

990x should make it a much more common sight though

Ummm... Wow! Nice! I can never get good CPUs. I always get stuck with average clockers or CPUs that only like super low temps and clock like crap on air and water.

As for the thread title - from the 80s movie "Clash of the Titans" there are two lines - One is "Let loose the Kraken" and the other is "Release the Kraken". I always say "Let loose the Kraken!" before releasing MY demi-god to me lady friend. LOL!

Easy... values that you see are the temps in Idle, because He launched coretemp only when Benchmark was done...

    In every way..
    Take your pick..
It's better, seems like just a better binned chip..
Not huge differences but they are there.

I believe 990x has something improved comparing to 980x
because 980x was launched in March 2010,
990x will be released in January 2011

10 months, almost a year.... can make a difference

    come on! i7 990x retail !!!!!!

hope the price will be $1299 or higher,
