    INTEL G3 leak

Once we have got the news that Intel third-generation SSD codenamed "Postville Refresh"Intel X25-M G3 SSD will be postponed its release to February next year. However,we found out that it is sold quietly at Taobao (Just like Ebay but it is in China) with labeling the benchmark of X25-M G3.
Intel new-generation SSD X25-M G3 will adopt 25nm IMFT MLC NAND chip, new controller chip, with capacities of 80/160/300/600GB.As official news says, the SSD is with read and write speed of up to 250MB/s and 170MB/s,supporting AES-128.

However, the read speed shown at Taobao is up to 218MB/s,there is much difference from the official data of 250MB/s.

The write speed shown at Taobao is up to 167.4MB/s, basically the same with the official data of 170MB/s.

    Random read test
    Now X25-M G3 with capacities of 160/300/600GB are available,prices range from Yuan2400 to Yuan8000,which equal to US$359/US$1197.

    Sandforce 2000 pwns G3

Well, the Sandforce 2000 chip will give the G3 a beating.
    G3:
    Sequential Read: 250MB/s
    Sequential Write:170MB/s
    read IOPS: 50K
    write IOPS:40K
    Security: AES-128

    Sandforce 2000:
    Sequential Read: 500MB/s
    Sequential Write:500MB/s
    read IOPS: 60K
    write IOPS:60K
    Security: AES-256

You will have to subtract a fair amount of those speeds. Just look at SF-1200. Vertex 2 EX 120GB goes down to 90MB/s after some usage. Same for IOPS. And don't forget, those are just the values of the enterprise controllers...

We'll have to wait and see. Plus, I remember leaked G2 speeds - they were worse than G1 because they used a crappy mainboard with a crappy controller. So let's just wait for the first real benches

Quite frankly, I believe there will be alot of disappointment in comparison with the new Intels. It seems they are relying on the extra size capacity to be a hit.
