Hey guys.
I have no idea where to ask this question, so I will shoot it out there here and see what you guys think...
I just bought a new sled and all my friends do allot of mountain sledding, so I will be going along once a month for a 4 day trip
The have all been using HD helmet cams, but the video is out of context unless it has some video shot off the machine to put it all into scope. I mentioned that I have a Nikon D80 and a 70-300mm VR nikkor lens http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/70-300-vr.htm. I said, pehaps I could get a new body that captures video and this would work quite well.
Now after doing some research I am beginning to like this idea more. Actual dedicated HD camcorderes that have this kind of zoom will be insane compared to the D3100 or waiting for the D7000. The both will shoot 1080P at 24fps (wish it was 60) and are in my price range as I would love to shoot vids of my boys too.
I will be using the hardest case I can find, but I also dont really know about how durable this stuff is with the kind of vibration and bashing that mountain riding will provide. But on he other hand, not sure how a dedicated camcorder would fair either??
Just for sh|tz n giggles, here is the sled I bought... when it is stock
More pics when my parts show up LOL
Thanks for any thoughts guys
P.S. - If you read this BlueAqua... COME FOR THE TRIP IN JANUARY!!!
