    Quick test new i7 980x

Hi guys was just finishing up the round of max cpu clock for asus 1156 comp and had about 2 ltr of ln2 left so i thought i would have a quick test of my i7 980x batch 3013A531,
Volts set in bios were 1.75v cpu-z read them as 1.79 and my multimeter read at 1.73v, temperature was at -120c I actually managed to clock to 6.4ghz but unfortunatly the .cvf file did not save

Next week i will order some more ln2 and see how this chip can really perform

Nice clock, looks like there is still quite a bit more room for more mhz. Looks like have some sick memory too. Cant wait to see what you do with this chip/board/mem combo.

Don't worry. Uncle Fister knows he's a n00b and doesn't take it personally. To his credit he's very safety conscious which is good to see, always wearing sunglasses when benching to prevent ln2 in the eyes and lessening his dazzlement at the sight of youngpro's chest hair.

I can tell you, with 2L of LN2 and quick testing by a seasoned bencher, i can assure you that thermal paste was not his concern

ok guys very quick full load test 1.75vcore , tripple channel IMC was cold bugging at -140 so i raised vdimm to 2v which gave me headroom to -160c. i think there is still more in this chip but this was best for the hour test i gave it.
