I was being an intern at a private company today taking orders, configuring systems, and then shipping them to their clients and partners. I came across this stock area where it had a bunch of huge boxes. I figured those were servers, but asked the manager what those boxes were anyway. He replied those are HP and Sun/Oracles servers, so he had to show me the other room where the technicians already opened 20 servers and tested them before shipping them to the client, The McGraw Hill Companies.
As soon as I saw this beast, I almost peed on myself (and had to take this picture ), and then WCG came to my mind. Boy, how would WCG run on this beast?
4 x Intel Xeon X7500 series (2.66 GHz, 8 cores, 16 threads each processor!), 128 GB of RAM, 6 x 137 GB SAS hard drives.
