its looking like extreme preset is indeed handling better for 6800s, but it also looks like heavy AA is handled better on 5800s

But due to price it's also less likely for people to buy several expensive cards so it would make sense to have more than 1 bridge on Barts as these would be the cards people would concider running more than 2 with (I personally couldn't care less as I never intend to run multiple cards).

For the price of 3 Barts one could probably buy Antilles which will be all around faster. I just don't see many users going for 3Fire with these cards. When Cayman arrives,it will be probably better than 2 Barts in CF(due to scaling issues in CF Vs single "fat" GPU like Cayman).

Vantage is not equal to actual games. Not to mention min fps argument for single GPU Vs CF/SLI , "microstutter"(be it a myth or subjective but real thing) ,power draw etc.

Those 6850 scores are interesting. Beating a OC'd GTX 460 1GB in games (and not synthetic benches) is impressive, if true. A 6870 might well trounce the GTX 470 then

This is true, I have to admit, but 5870's didn't scale very well on Vantage before thus I think the 6870's in cross fire will beat 5870's crossfire with some ease.

Not impressed at all. I will sit tight with my GTX 465--> 470 and the Core sitting at 800 with more headroom left.

68xx series are aimed marketwise against 460 nvidia.... seems like your still messed up with the naming schema...

yes sit tight with your heater @800 for a while with headroom
nvidia just doesn't drop the 470 price without a reason, wait for the reviews.

I'm not impressed that you're not impressed. you got a really good price for a 470 and you're not impressed by a cheaper card months later. definitely not impressed.

It's not like newegg does same day shipping. If they sold them today we'd have them tomorrow without any issues.
