Aah, the silence! I can hear the TV again now that the datacenter is shut down!
I should sell a bunch of this old stuff before the next round.

I'm very eager to build another dedicated cruncher but with money restraints I think I'm going to limit myself to a new build every year. With new technology being released, prices of old but decent stuff will be lower.

Some of them may OC less, but early results showing really good promises for K-series. Some have been hitting 4.9Ghz on air, but we have to wait for the final results to make sure. The good news is that, even these K-series will be pretty affordable, so it's a good idea to follow SB before making a new purchase.

Well ... if we take it that "the mark" was 20 million, then yes, but we missed it by less than we did last time, so that's still a good thing

    How to answer,,
I guess the best way to say it is yes,we missed what I would have liked to see but over all we did pretty damned well last week.
You sit back and say to yourself JEEZ,I KNOW that even 50million a day is easliy doable with the machinery that is on this forum but then you also realise that we are in one really crap situation globally and especially in the US in terms of people being out of work and struggling to just meet their bills and put food on the table so with that thinking you stop and say we did pretty damned good.
Bottom line it's hard for someone to justify turning on machines to run 24/7 100% load while they are trying to figure out how to pay this months bills.

Well said. We make goals as a challenge to ourselves. In the end, everyone wins since we cranked out some impressive numbers and a lot of research got done. I wonder how the scientists see our week long spikes. Do they start working longer hours too?
