New to 32nm - need OC help

I, unfortunately, never seem to have enough time to keep up with hardware....among other things....so I have no clue about 24/7 safe voltages for 32nm.

There is an i7-920 thread here that has some basic "rules" for i7 45nm.

Anyone have any basic "rules" for 32nm that they wish to share?

I received a board today, just waiting on the cpu....so no specific problems....yet.

    I wouldn't exceed 1.35vcore or 1.35vtt for 24/7 use.

    45nm : uncore speed = dram speed x2
    32nm : uncore speed = dram speed x1.5

    What 32nm are you running?

You should add the word "minimum" here
Lowering uncore is a great way to minimize your VTT requirements. 32nm Hexas don't like to run high Uncore like most Bloomfields can, and that is why the dram speed x 1.5 minimum is really helpful.

Sorry I can't add anymore than has already been stated.

But seeing as your asking about the 32nm I'll add a question to this thread if you don't mind

Anyone have a BIOS template for an REIII/980x rig 24/7, they are willing to share ? I've searched the REIII thread but nothing solid, so many people running 930's with the REIII.

    Thanks.

I'm not sure that I'm allowed to say....I'll check on this and report back.

    Thanks for the info jcool.

    Johnmark: don't worry about hi-jacking the thread....not a problem.

    Thanks my87csx481

Thinking some marked up BIOS templates would be a nice way to see what peoples experiences have been with 32nm chips.

Hmmm, "not sure I'm allowed to say"
Can't wait to find out what your playing with

Say no more, I know the deal I run my Gulftowns at 4.2GHz. ~1.34Vcore under load. On my dedicated crunchers I clock down the uncore and ram to the bare minimum; on my desktop I run the RAM much higher so I use more VTT. 26 x 162 gives me a nice easy 4.2GHz which stays nice and cool and power friendly. I have ran at 4.5GHz with 1.411Vcore under load for a month or two 24/7 with no problems also. I think these 32nm's can take a slighly higher Vcore than most people recommend if you wish to push your chip.

    Listen to Jaco and Trn..
I bet you can easily pull 4GHz with 1.3vcore and 1.3VTT..
Might hit 4.2 with those settings..
26x165 BCLK is a "nice" real world number
