    TEC w/ SLI

I'm thinking this would not be an advisable idea, but juust wanted to confirm my suspicions.

I have 2x 460GTX cards in SLI and if I were to TEC cool them, on a balls out overclock I would probably be needing the 245 watt TEC that F-CPU sells. But then in addition to each TEC I must compensate for the over 200 watt heat load of the GPU also. So with 2 cards at this setup this would put the total heatload for the SLI loop at anywhere from 850 - 950 watts approx

This would require a GARGANTUAN radiator, or at least something more beastly than my 3x 120mm black ice xtreme.

I am suspecting this cannot possibly end well. Someone talk me out of it if my calculations are correct.

    Yes, it's totally stupid idea

245W tec can transport 245W at ZERO degrees delta. So you will get temp drop (by few degrees, max ten or so), only if you downclock cards to some 100W level

    Confirmed

Size/space contraints on cooling using TECs would make this pretty much a no-go anyway and yes you would need bigger TECs than 245w.

you could do this with a correctly designed tec chiller..but not with direct die tecs
