I would've they rather sort them by performance than by MFG. I want to be able to see fastest to slowest without having to eyeball it.

The numbers help, but for a quick look over I think going from fastest to slowest would've made more sense.

    Yes it could

Remember that Celeron T3300 is based on 45nm Core 2

Not bad performance of Phenom X2 N620 against the i3 330M seems like a good compromise lets hope battery wise also its same or better.

They should have included video trans-coding numbers also because people do transcode videos to their iPod's all the time using the apple software.

Where did Celeron beat a Phenom except SuperPI?

true it only wins out in superpi, but it comes close to it in every other bench mark. idk i don't trust this review. performance seems too low on the amd chips. i don't expect it to beat the core series, but the Pentiums and the celerons should not even be able to compete with the Athlons?

Let me remind you that i3 330M has 35w TDP whick includes the GPU and PCI-E controllers

N620 has TDP of 35w TDP (which doesn't include the GPU and PCI-E controller)

And i3 330M performed better in majority of cases. So, in other words N620 must consume less power than i3 in order to match it in performance per watt

They did include video trans-coding test. See the full review. i5-450 seems to me is the best bang for the bucks.

Core i3 was overall faster, but the difference is not big

Clock for clock 45nm core 2 duo can easily beat Athlon II

The only difference between the Pentium/celeron and Core 2 series is the cache size. So, why would anyone expect that the difference between them and Athlon to be great ?

GPU-accelerated transcoding would have been fairer comparison IMO. The onboard GPU helps low end CPUs a lot even if it only has 80SP.

basically you cannot go wrong with any cpu, as long as you know how many cores you need

2 fast or 4 slow, both are going to do great

prices and power consumption would both have been very important though, considering this is mobile stuff, you NEED power consumption. and price to let you know if things are even in the same ballpark
