Moving files on drive C to new hard drive

My hard drive is full so I bought a new drive. I am using XP now and I'm going to install Win7 on new drive.
My question for today is - How do I move all my program files off of Drive C (XP) to new hdw with Win 7?
    thanks
    Ron

ron i have had some success with installing the programs from the old unit on the new computer as normal

and then copying the original file (from program files) over from the old machine into the new program file folder (this will replace the file)

this method may not always work fully but should keep your data and settings from the old computer for that app
