EVGA nForce 730a AM2+ problem

Hey. I have come across an interesting problem with one of these motherboards... I was running my 550BE in it, since it is an AM2+ board, and it was running fine, then I think my power supply started getting retarded. I would have to press the power button a few times before the computer would stay on. And eventually the PSU flat out stopped working (the POST time was over 990 ms or whatever it is for good PSUs). Now when I try to boot up this motherboard, the onboard LED shows a bunch of nonsense. The segments that light up don't make any sort of hex code. Does anybody know what might have happened and how to remedy this? I bought it from a guy on ebay, so I'm not taking a big hit if it is dead, but I was wondering if there was some way to fix it before I passed it on to the recyclers.

Hmm... Is there any way I could test this? Pushing on the chipset to see if it makes a good connection? sounds like it might be a fun project... what do I have to lose?
