    Asus delivered!

Some highlights from the past few days.

Mikeguava > K|ngp|n > Trouffman at Kart racing
Mike won the kart racing event + $1000

Grats to the MOA winners and Thanks MSI for a great event that went as good as one could want.
Intel sent over many engineers throughout the event, Mr Skulltrail, Steven, Rahul, Kevin, Francois, and the guy with the mohawk.
The MOA contestants had a meet and greet with the Isreal Sandy Bridge design team, five of the Sandy Bridge design team answered questions as they watched the overclocking in progress.

Vince, Shamino, Gautam, BrianY, Ronaldo, Cwiss, Yuri, Gnidaol, Mikeguava and I went out on the Jeep tours from Red Rock down towards Good Springs. It was washed out bad and snow covered on our first trip.

The party went great, both bands made it, no one got arrested and prizes went to those did not expect to be hooked up.

    Corsair Force SSD's, GTX3, 1200HX, 1000HX
Western Digital 2 Caviar Black 1TB, 500GB Notebook HD, 64GB SDD
    EK water blocks
Danger Den variety of lit reservoirs and parts
    Mountain mod cases
Asus Maximus IV Extreme, Rampage III Extreme, Crosshair Extreme, P8P67, and other stuff

Some guys took home enough parts to build a system, some got to pick a part.

The food was really good, the girl band Apocolypstick (sp?) and Pain Cylinder played four sets till 11PM

Thanks Planet for the many beers from Corsair. I hope someone got a pic of you with Francois this year.

Gabe from Swiftech was a trooper from start to finish and there was a group picture with Jeremy, Dennis, Eddy, and Alex (Petra).
Darthbeavis had a watercooled rig on display, V2-V3 had a water cooled Sandy Bridge on the bench.

No one got arrested this year. I need to get some rest before I complete the thanks thread, lets see some more pictures.

    It seems it was awesome.

Finally, I wasn't able to make it this year... shame on me for traveling with my girlfriend.
    Best Regards,

Finally back home in Atlanta. What a crazy 5 day weekend. Had a blast at the XS party setting a personal 3Dmark 2003 record of 200k with a set of ASUS HD 6970s. Then I lost my rig to Brian Y/Shamino/Gautam as they killed their rig and needed something to run 3D03 on Was a fun session benching from ~2pm to ~2am more or less nonstop. Was great seeing those who I saw and I apologize for being so distracted. That dang i7 980x was such a finicky CPU.

Thanks for all the sponsors that made this possible. Fun was had by all I believe

Even though life interferred and I didn't make it out this year I'd like to thank all the sponsors and Charles for making it happen.
What you guys do takes people from all parts of the hobby and brings them together in a way that is hard to describe.
The two Xs parties I've attended were the best I've ever been to and met great people.
    Thanks to you all.

Sounded like everyone had a great time. Too bad I couldn't make it; I was dead on my feet from suite hopping and show-floor walking.

That was a hell of a great time.

I was 1 of those guys with the bald head and full beard. Can anyone give me a count?

From how Conumdrum had explained it to me I figured I was going to see 7 guys in folding chairs with a bag of Doritos. When I arrived to see 2 7 foot tall canisters of liquid Nitrogen and half of it already billowing out the front door, I was pleasantly surprised. Wish I took my camera.

This was my first time there and I met a lot of new people (all you guys were great). I can only hope the enabler Conumdrum (tequila?) and I get a chance to do it again next year.

I loved all the quotable chat that was going on. Some of my favorites that I can remember.

TallDurango: There are so many people in Vegas and so much pollution. You can just FEEL the pollution.
MohawkLocal. That's what makes my skin so smooth and soft.

ParisDreads: He let me try the "King of fruit." It tasted like used socks and warm beer in a biscuit with a hint of pineapple.

    Me: Are you K|ngp|n?
    No that's him.
    Me: Oh, what's your name?
    Bullshiznit

Bullshiznit: He has this quantum theory that changing the monitor will make it run faster. He already had us change the keyboard.

Doc Overclock (Pain Cylinder): We're currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please erase this segment of time from your memory.

Francois: Ah you're overclocking AMD. It's like trying to make a moped go faster.

Francois: So what do we have over here? Oh some trouble? I see your problem. It's your shoes.

Brian@Asus: See it pays to stay late. (shortly after I was given a Crosshair IV Extreme )

I was told that DarthBeavis has a UV tattoo of a circuit board on his arm. I wanna see a UV pic of that.

I've seen people stranded in the Rocky Mountains that didn't look as cold as Chen did after his 12 hour bath with Liquid Nitrogen.

The poster boy for happy was NaeKuh as he was walking out with the Corsair AX1200 tucked tightly under his arm.

Thanks to [XC] Gomeler for explaining to the slanted eyebrowed fella what the hell was going on, and grats on hitting the 200k.

I hope Vince gets more than 4 hours of sleep sometime soon.

Thanks Fugger for making something this amazing happen.

Everything else seems dull after an event like this.

actually thats me going letgo of my eggo!

    AX1200 mine!

Seriously tho.. i never expected it to get the board.
I wanted to see peter's cards break the gpu records.
    they were absolutely insane!

Lemme explain this to you guys.
    Its a 480 with half a 580 (the voltage regs) soldered onto the 480;s so they can get more voltage! = 1.5 gpu's a 480 + the rear section of a 580
Frankenstien GPUS!! The station required 3 Antec 1200 + 1 cheapo psu, and it couldnt even pull all the power from 1 socket on the wall.

The board just came as i saw them break the record.
Gautum goes WOOT! we broke record.
    I went woot finally!
Brian comes in with 6 asus boards and goes who do we give these too to charles?

My face grows a very big grin!

Hey guys, I want to go to CES 2012 and was wondering if you had to buy a ticket in advance or pre-register to attend. Also, how far in advance did you have to book a hotel?

He was wearing a full metal cup and helmet plus packing heat when I saw him with it. I figured the best approach was to get him drunk at the AVN Expo and grab it while he had his eyes on something more entertaining.

I thought he played at the XS party (would not have posted it but it was a public post of Facebook so not like it is private conversation).
