Yea I'll definitely do a review. Only thing I've heard so far is mid October.

I'd like to do a comparison with a D700 but it's not worth the $200 to rent one for a few days.

Yea, sounds about right I'm in china right now and they said SB-700 and D700 around the 20th. Everything is freaking expensive here all lenses and stuff is about 400 more than US stuff.

I've heard a lot of dates so far but I think anywhere between the 18th and 29th. Obviously I hope for the 18th :-)

Amazon updated their D7000 Kit to show in stock on November 15th.... that sucks if I have to wait another month.... but not something I didn't anticipate. Companies love driving their biggest supporters to the brink of insanity.

Actually, I looked around and there isn't really any knock offs cept for like triggers, and lens pens. There is a bunch of crappy filters and such so I didn't buy anything. Most stores you don't even see any tamron or sigma products either all Canon or Nikon.

I'd rather cut off my own head than buy something from BestBuy. Plus I don't want to get stuck trying to sell off that crappy kit lens. There are over 100 on eBay right now... most with no bids and most selling for well below their value.

ha i hear ya i only go to BB to window shop so i know what i am buying online.
i would never buy one from ebay either, they are probably the japanese model so you get zero warranty (assuming nikon doesnt warranty units that are not USA models)

Well I did it. In Hitler's footsteps I canceled my D7000 order. Though not for the reason you may think. My decision to cancel was based on the growing number of requests for portrait shoots I've received in the past few weeks. So instead of going for a solid backup to the D300s I decided to suplement it with a D700. Yep. I'm finally going to cave and go full frame. Now I need to start saving for the glass =\
