Still doesn't fit the Lian-Li PC-Q07 case. Guess I have to keep my Powercolor HD5770 for the next half a year.
    Nvidia thanks for nothing.

Thats still better than a GTS 250 anyway.

I'll take it that the Powercolor PCB is smaller than the reference design then because GTX 450 / 460 / reference 5770 are all the same size.

Really? Taken from page 5 of the review.

    That's a GTX460 and an HD4850 1GB next to it.
    Formerly XIP, now just P.

None reference Powercolor 5770s use an even shorter PCB:

For the reference 5770 PCB, I have a comparison pic of an old one against my new GTX 460:

Same size, but the Cyclone cooler is a lot taller. The 450 is the same size as these.

    £85 for the £512 Mb 5750, £95 for the 1 Gb.

Also, you can get a HIS 5770 for £111:

I wouldnt touch the 450 over that 5770.

Man, nothing makes sense at the midrange anymore beside the gtx 460.

128 pounds, the closest 5850 is 70 pounds more. It certainly doesn't have greater than 55% better performance.

The gtx 460 price drop made the 768mb version such a good deal, that its hard to even recommend the 1gb version as much.

The gtx 460 is not really even that spectacular a card as they really don't kill the former generation really. It is simply, every other card under 200 dollars really underperforms compared to the last generation and it makes the gtx 460 look great.

Even with heavier physics? if the gt240 runs out of juice and i need a more powerful card i can basicly throw the 240 in the trash...

Oh, I missed that price. £129 for a 768 Mb 460 is far better than anything lower down, even with the slightly less ram, its still a much faster card.

Much better to get that than a 5770 or GTX 450. The only thing that makes the GTX 460 attractive is its price, and SLI scaling for people who dont mind using two.

Edit - The palit 768 Mb GTX 460 was only £117 for the last week, and ends tomorrow:

Why would anyone want to buy a GTX 450, or Ati 5770 instead?
